Emuwings turned up today, it’s a shame I’m going away, install will have to wait till Sunday :(
The adhesive has to cure for 24 hours, so if I pull out the cargo windows Sunday when I get home, then I can fit the actual gullwings during the week after work!

Went away to Mt Disappointment over the weekend, just a camping trip so no low range work :(
Then came home and pulled out my cargo windows, fitted the pinchweld and frames for the Emuwings , now just need to wait for the sealer to cure so I can fit the rest of it!

Fitted the rest of the Emuwings after work, I’m going to have to rearrange the brackets for my soft luggage shelf as the hinges hit on it :(
Modifying cars is super fun, one step forward, two steps back lol
Started boxing up next to my fridge to make full use of the drivers Emuwing, then I’ll work out what I’ll be doing with the passenger side

Also trying to find a way to quieten the cab noise, got a decibel meter app on my phone and am getting 70db inside the cab at idle, 85db at 2,500rpm.
Sounds cool but makes my ears ring after a couple of hours.
I have a few new covers coming for the gearsticks, but still might have to pull the carpet up and put some dynamat/underlay in

Got my high mount top hat finished, Freespool eliminator, Gigglepin brass bushes, painted flat black

Then started on my sound deadening, this is stage 1, butyl based. Then I put a second layer on which is a closed cell foam with a rubber mat glued to it, got my interior back together today and found I had a flat battery :(
Battery’s on charge now, so can’t drive it and compare before and after, results tomorrow hopefully

Went for a drive when I got home from work, drove down the freeway and dropped 3db

Idles better as well, down 4db
Car is so much better now, I’ll be attacking the doors and possibly the roof, trying to get it under 80 dB
My headlights have been playing up, I assumed it was just the eBay cheapies so bought a set of ADR approved Narva LEDs.
Fitted the new ones and had the same issue, had 8 volts at the R/h headlight, turns out it was the headlight switch ��
Replaced that and tested, all works now

Then replaced all my bailey channel rubbers and weather strips, hopefully get this thing dirty in a week or so, I’m nearly prepped and ready for Queens birthday weekend

Love this car!!
The GQ didn't run headlight relays. Fitting them was one of the best mods I have done. The switch should now last the life of the vehicle.Quote:
