Just a reminder for all the Patrol owners with factory alloys to check your wheel nuts. Second Patrol in a month I saw while on the way to work sitting on the side of the road with a missing rear left wheel. And also for the males of forum, don't forget to check your own nuts too.
The legendary Threedogs wanted us to check our nuts regularly. So, get off the couch and have a look at your wheel lug nuts, especially if you own alloy rims!!
Absolutely! Checking those wheel nuts is crucial for safety on the road. A silver ribbon sounds like a classy touch for 'Check Your Nuts Day'!
Timely topic, I put a 3T hire forklift into rehab yesterday after discovering 10 of the 15 nuts and studs had been replaced with smaller dia and shorter studs and the nuts were nylocs, and the stud length so short the plastic locking/anti vibration ring was not in contact with the thread. The on-site modification was done by the site hire facility and in response to the client demanding the unit be returned to service - yep, good old safety has its limits.
