Killed the clutch in this monster. Along with broken winch, bent link pins and gas tank mounts. Glad the days over after a long wait for the tow truck haha.
Have you tried taking to the bell housing with a water hose? Remove the clutch fork rubber and let loose with the garden hose. Sometimes fixes clutch issues after doing what you just did.
Hmm. Dunno. Dumped it at work. Will look tomorrow. But it went from working to instantly no drive. Then I fried it driving out of there so fair chance its ruined anyway. Was in a bad spot and lucky I had drive at all.
G'day mate. Yes they are rated. And threedogs here on the forum makes and sells them amongst other things.
His vendor thread.

Had the Swan Lake dunes to ourselves this afternoon, so we tickled the RB30 into action. The little six loves the higher rev range.
Did 900k in mine. All black top thou..
Installed the new Tekonsha brake controller. Don't have a trailer to test it with but all seems to be working.
Why is it that these things always take heaps longer than you think??????
Adjusted the ip timing and reset the rockers. Now i know why the dealers charge so much.:SNruQWn369624407:
:( lol not what I had planned to be doing to the patrol but some times you got to suck it.

Not the most pleasant job to do.
Went for a drive yesterday and camped out then to York for a country breakfast, got a bit damp but was a good night away from town.
Fitted egr plate, needle and Dawes valve. Also an intercooler that's been welded up to replace my leaking one. Just wanted to say a very big thank you to Mudski you are a champion.
Fix it for ya Paule...
It wasn't a problem at all bud, you supplied the 24 bottles of neck oil so I was a happy camper...Happy to do it. It was good timing really... No time lately to even breath and you got me just in between breath's. Lol. Was great to meet another member.
As for me. I fitted new rear sway bar extension links. Luckily for me I didn't need to cut them as I simply removed the already fitted extended brackets on the chassis. But will need to put them back in when I get a new suspension.
I fitted my new???? rear diff guard??? Long story how I got one but looks trick!!
Also swapped out my oxygen sensor with a new one and had to adjust idle.. car actually seems to be running better (not sure if this is so)

Kinda cheating when you have work lights everywhere built in.
Waiting for seals to arrive, working out bumpstops for my new tires 285/75's. Its probally on in last week or so of lots of research I'm starting to get my head around the suspension side. I brought a full 4 inch kit and have been happy as a pig in shit with it till I stumbled across what bottoming shocks out can do. So now I'm setting it up to suit the 285's then i can start working out where I can go from there I don't want to go any higher but more travel would be lovely.
Rotated the four Silverstone AT tyres after balancing the ones going on the front. Damn things just won't wear out but figured the fronts needed another re-balance as the steering wheel indicated from 80 to 110 km on the M1 that they were not 100% in balance yessterday. Exciting stuff but what the hey life's like that some times!

PS can one install 16'' wheels on a GQ and which ones are the way to go and is the range of tyres (more HT that AT type) much better in the 16" wheel size?
Here you go
Attachment 42662
The size mentioned above are 32's
As for 16 inch rims no problem.. I run 265's and 285's...
265s are the OE size on GUs and GQs with STD 16' rims
265s return great economy which you'll find out after switching to 285s
Most here would run 285s or 305s
I have the standard 15" rims and have 31 10.5 15 AT tyres that result in the speedometer being 5 or 6 kms slow at 100 110kms.
Given that 16" rims presumably result in a far greater range of HT tyres which I am thinking about as 98% of my running is on road with a bit of 2 tonne plus towing
1 what are the most reasonable choice in such tyres and
2 what is the speedo error likely to be?
Thanks in advance
Cheers

and PS 3 Anyone in shouting distance of the Gold Coast got anything I might need for sale? (preferably second hand)
10r 15s x 31 are smaller than STD so great acceleration, and high revs at hwy speeds
A set of 16" x 8 rims with some 265s would be back to STD, slightly less acceleration but lower revs at hwy speeds
at hwy speeds, 285s are about the same as a 33" but only 11.5 " wide, not sure if they would fit on a GQ with STD suspension.
With a 2" lift yes, check what off set is required , rim wise
Got some some new rock sliders. Replacing the rusted and bend ARB ones.
Also got a clip on rear view mirror that has blue tooth for the phone, Front facing recorder and a rear camera.
Fitted the new monster intercooler today. Can't wait for the exhuast to arrive !!Attachment 42784
Got an extra button of confidence fitted today.

where do you get the mirror camera thing Meh ?...does it display the distance left in the mirror with audible sound etc when you are reversing ?..how much was it if I can ask ?..
Do they just replace your existing mirror ?...are they wireless ?.."5 hours of recording"..is that only due to the size of the sd card ? or do you have a link to it ....cheers
just seen they are clip on...so could they replace the factory mirror do you think ?
Here is a pic from the catalogue below.
It doesnt display the distance, just has some colored bars on it and the camera is 140 degrees.
Clips on over your current one, its quite large which is good cause I can now see the kids in the back without having to tilt the mirror down.
5hrs is what it says with a max of 8gb micro SD, I might try a bigger one see if that works when I get to the shops to buy it.
Did some video's at 1080 HD. 3 minutes is about 200mb. Will play around with the different video's and see which is best ect.
It also has a motion activate with a battery within the mirror. So if some one was to bump into the car, or try to break in it starts to record.
Has a second video input. Ive set it up so that I can select the reverse camera while driving if Im towing ect.
And has a blue tooth hands free to top it off
$149 from repco at the moment on sale
Cheers thanks Meh..
Finally got my new Holley carby today fitted it while my daughter was asleep so unfortunately due to time restraints I couldn't do a step by step walk through. But I'll be honest. It's a 100% improvement on the old carby just have to properly tune it now
Put the patrol on ramps and bled the cooling system again. Was amazed at how much air came out, considering I bled it the other day when I chucked the new head on. Worth checking for everyone next time the opportunity arises.
Also checked timing, cleaned the maf and put some gearbox treatment stuff in. Shifts nicer now.

That doesn't add up to me menace, not from experience or logic.
I've tested ours with the roadside speed displays used by councils and the RMS with the 31's and the 32's.
Logically, your 33's will be doing less revs than 31's would at the same speed, so your speedo should run slower with the bigger tyres.
yes..exactly what I thought that's why I asked ...so I just elect to drop 10 klm off the speedo reading and sit on that to play it safe...maybe the GPS isn't reading properly...it is a Garmin Nuvi ?..not really reliable anyway....I will just get someone to sit on 100klm one day and follow them ...then just use that as the best guide....have to be careful..they have just lowered the speed tolerance again !...cheers
I'm running 35's with an auto box and the speedo shows 87 when I'm actually doing 100 . Tested the same on two different brand gps. When the speedo shows 100 I'm doing 115.
