Just stumbled onto this thread today. Congratulations on the box and the interest it's getting.
Any plans to have a lockable version?
My friends with the OzPig are the only owners of an RV Vista XLI taking the demo one 2 weeks ago. They where very impressed and will buy 4. The grey one was nearly a perfect colour match of some of the internal trims. It sat perfectly below the cupboard door inside and made a great seat internally with the bed set up.
*edit. Sorry i mixed you up with @TimE who is buying an XLI at the moment
:) actually have bought an XLE, the slide out chest fridge model. Lots of custom fit out to the interior, not much like there current demo XLE. It is due for delivery in April. My current 2016 XL is up for sale if anyone is interested ;)Quote:

Ah no worries. Yes they have a fridge in the car too and where happy with an internal fridge. Had a good look at it at cape Jaffa. The only one on the road. There are some teething issues but the build quality is impressive. They are heading back to the dealer next week to hopefully sort through some of the issues. I was less than impressed with the annex/awning! They need to have another go at that!!.
Wrong place for this chat. Sorry @FNQGU happy to chat via pm though @TimE cheers
all good mate.
Hi Guys,
We've been forced into a bit of a price rise scenario to try and make ends meet. Bit unfortunate, but that's life.
If anyone from the Forum is interested in the boxes though, make sure to contact me direct and I'll work out what we can do.
Hope you are all having a great Australia Day weekend - pissing rain in Cairns although we are still managing kids sleepovers and steaks on the BBQ.
Packing food in these boxes is great, but I just discovered that they fit tall bottles standing upright!
If you line them up with the internal ribbing of the lid they not only fit, but keep the bottle upright even if the box is thrown around a bit.
This realisation made me really happy when we were packing bottles that had already been opened.
These photos show tall and standard wine bottles.
Another practical win for this design.http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...019/01/269.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...019/01/270.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...019/01/271.jpg
Yep, it's what I call the third tank. It prevents the wife from drinking my beers!
Happened to personally oversee that measurement... Would you believe a 1125 of Bundy also stands there nicely besides a bottle of Jameson...
How much would 2 different coloured lids (green and orange) set me back now with shipping to Perth?
I'll take a look mate and PM you.
All good mate, no major hurry as we've chucked on some Dymo labels for now..... But coloured lids are much bettered [emoji1].........
Oh and the missus has asked when wheels would be available? She like to store the boxes under the table when camping and would be much easier for her drag them out and in from under the table, although I have told her that she no longer needs to do that to keep stuff dry...... But hey, who am I to argue with the logic, I'm just there to lift heavy stuff [emoji43]
Just had the great pleasure to meet Ben. He's heading south on a sales / show run as far as Brisvegas. Down to earth, true blue gent.
Unfortunately no knocking back a few coldies this trip but looking forward to doing so in the future.
Hey!!!
Glad I dropped in mate. Beers on the return trip for sure!
I have to say, I'm just a bit rooted from the drive, but this is the first foray for us into the animal of shows and expos and cold calls on businesses all the way down the Qld coast from Cairns. And to our surprise, TJM is coming on board with this little project in a big way so far and now nearly every store in Qld is stocking or is about to start stocking the Expedition Boxes! The stores in Darwin, Mt Isa, Cairns (of course), Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, (hopefully Bundy but they about to start moving location), and lastly the Sunny Coast, have all jumped on board and are now stocking the box! What a huge milestone!
I'm thinking i'll just keep driving South till I link up with MB and AB and a few of the Vics on this forum and see what happens in between.
Had the best night in Clermont when after driving out from Townsville to dodge the flooded Burdelkin River, temps hit 39 degrees between Charters and Clermont and ended in the most spectacular lightning storm I have seen in years.

Finally made it in to the Clermont Hotel Motel (read bottom pub) where the lovely staff waited up for me and handed me two cold stubbies for the unpack as I looked so tired. Just said it all for country hospitality in my books. Those two beers whilst leaning on the still hot bonnet and watching the fading lightning show at the back of the pub were two of the best beers I'd had in years, and they didn't even charge me a cent for them. Got to love that.
Then drove back up to Mackay via the Peak Downs Hwy and Moranbah and the mining country. This was the first time I've ever done that drive for some reason and I really enjoyed it.

The TJM staff at Mackay were absolutely fantastic too. Super interested and genuinely liked what they were looking at. The Manager there, Denette Trueman, was a gem and really appreciated the visit.

Next surprise was TJM in Rockhampton where Anthony Lacey and his son Mitchell raised the bar. I hadn't even finished explaining the features of the two boxes i had sitting on the floor when Anthony said he was in. He then palmed it all off on young Mitch to then sort out the details! Awesome! I really do like family businesses in regional Australia!

It pissed rain coming into Bundy from Miriam Vale, but I had a coldie with Wes Whitworth at the Railway Hotel. Wes is a writer for the Pat Callinan Group, who is currently doing a long term review of the boxes for the mag, and all was good with the world again. Stayed the night at the Railway. I love old pubs and supporting the regional mob and you never know what you are going to get although I think I was the only soul moving at 5:30am that's for sure...

Love traveling. The early mornings are the best in any new town.
And if anyone is in the vicinity of the Moreton Bay Caravan, Camping, Boating and 4wdriving Expo, come say d'gay. I'm on me lonesome on Friday but hope to have some support for Saturday and Sunday. Use the discount code of OpenSky if you are buying tickets. Not that they cost much. About $10 each from memory.
Great update Ben, good luck with getting them into more stores.
We went away to Echuca for the riverboat music festival last weekend and first time taking two expedition boxes away.
I was very pleased that they stacked well and fitted snugly between the child seat restraint strap and the interior trim in the GU III.
The wife is now referring to the original grey one as 'the pantry' as we use it for all food and kitchen related travel items.http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...019/02/120.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...019/02/121.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...019/02/122.jpg
Don't worry, we won't forget the little blokes at all. Despite the somewhat hiked pricing, anyone from the forum can get hold of me directly and we'll work something out.
Didn't manage to get permission from the wife on this occasion to take off and head any further South, but hopefully at some stage...
This was us at the show. No expense spared... Super simple and probably the least prepared of all the exhibitors there, but we learnt a hell of a lot and made some good contacts. By the end of the show we had sold out of the black and orange. Most of these went to people who wanted to combine those colours by swapping the lids, although our neighbours at the show, EzyAnchor, loved the boxes so much they bought a heap for their stock, which certainly helped.
Was amusing though, because on day one, it was blowing a gale, and I had to buy a heap of their guy ropes and drill in pegs, just to keep our marquee on the ground.

Touses - sorry I missed you for a beer on the way home. I got the summoning call to not dither around and took heed of the warning note in her voice...
All good mate. Will be opportunities in the future. Maybe a tag along on one of your adventures.

So.... you think you've packed for a big trip before? This is a setup from one of our Expedition Box users in the Pilbara as he preps for 8 months back in the bush working.
All the tucker is in the boxes.
Gotta love the kegs!
Thought these looked familiar, just saw on Jamie Touring solutions Facebook page from his Canter

Yeah, we are stoked as they are starting to get around a bit. Simon Christie on 4wdTV is using them, Whatsupdownunder just set up the back of a Patrol with some, Jamie Hazelden is using them on his Aussie Bushman vehicles for his TV series and with a bit of luck, a couple more to come soon.
But, they started here and the forum got the first ones!
G'day mate.
So time I think I help you.
Just bought a pathy and won't be doing draws this time so think I'll need 2 boxes.
One for recover gear and the other camping gear.
What's the stacked height of 2 please mate?
And how much to get 2 of them to kadina, 5554?
Before we rush in though.
Any plans on a half height box??
Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
Hi Kallen, I'll have to get back to you with stacked height, but they are 325mm high each, so double that and take a few mm off.
Lots of ideas on other sizes, just not the funds to invest yet. We are currently working on some custom tie-down straps at the moment and need to slowly work my way through that idea yet.
Freight to SA is still a flat $20 mate. Doesn't matter if it is one or two boxes. I'm away at work but let me know the colours you'd like and I'll sort a forum price for you.
Boxes are starting to get a bit of a following. Had them at the Brissy shows and if the stars align with rosters, will make the trip to Perth in November too!
Hey guys, here's my latest half arsed attempt at a video.

Thanks to everyone for the support for this idea.
We are working on a tray to fit inside the box next, plus some snazzy custom tie-downs using a MilSpec quick release clip.
