Still too early to see them but they’re making one hell of a waking racket this morning :-)

We get them every morning too. But only after the Bush Stone-curlews have already had their say. Full moon nights are very noisy affairs!

It has finally Lockdown begun, a mate further up towards the high country base has expressed his feral concerns of ‘Planet of the Moose’

It is a problem brother, we’ll have to send up some Vegan whisperers to teach them dinger rollbacks first hand :-)

nothing a good rifle shot or two can't fix.
These little guys are nesting in every tree in the desert at the moment. Was amazingly noisy in the Eyre Creek area.

I heard a Tree Creeper singing so I had another go a getting a good pic. It had moved on, by the time I got the camera.
This little creature wasn't camera shy at all.
I think it is a Thornbill of some sort, but I am happy to be told otherwise.
@FNQGU i love budgies with a passion, like the young one poking its head out.
Wonder if fish stocks have gone up over this virus
Thanking my lucky stars today, spotted a very rare ‘Rossco Nimbleous’ [emoji106][emoji106]

Good day for a bit of essential post storm laserlight protection. . Was a wild week in the hills . . .

Good to hear people think it`s a good idea and hope photos, plus stories keep coming.
I was driving in the forest at Mt Clay last weekend and found this guy in a manna gum.
Sorry for the quality of the pic, as the camera is on the blink. This is a Hooded Plover near Yambuk. Their nesting habits make them very vulnerable to predators and human activities.
I just shit a brick and my dog just pissed vertical after we dark encountered this Aggressive Tiger Rattle Snake upon final bedtime wee wee’s [emoji23]

Absolutely beautiful mate.
I love the Kookas . We have none where we live .
It's like my #1 thing looking forward to when going away up hills/ high country etc ... Love the sound in the morning with a bunch of them around doing their thing... So majestic.

Hodgey Legend, you really should consider setting your short, at worst long term goals towards a nearby Tree Change Brother!
May cost you less conveniences at home and nearby but regions out there need good folk like yourself to enjoy the simples in life everyday you deserve [emoji106][emoji106]

Agreed. Best thing I did was move out of Mill Park. Eltham is not my ideal living, something with more space is but its certainly full of bird life here.
Whereas at Mill Park, or MillParkistan I call it, the only bird sounds I heard was the old duck next door screaming at her kids with f@&k used in every sentence. Sooo much better here.
Clearing out a gutter, and Lightning strikes real close. I don't think I have ever moved so fast in my life!!!
All the bird life took off and left about an hour ago. I shoulda taken note.
I have a lightning app Ion my phone that i use with the site lightning radar. Its been blaring all arvo but very little heard. I also have a dedicated lightning tracker i carry both on site and with me in the bush, very handy when the greater sky is not that visible
This little fella popped into shot as I had a play with the camera. Some serious editing made it look reasonable.
Not gunna tell you how long it took to get this shot. Bloody things are so fast, they seem to teleport between bunches of flowers.
Edit: It is a Musk Lorikeet.
Just heard our girls scream from the nearest Hungry Jacks carpark some 30kms away [emoji23]

Out and about in the horizontal rain today. Found Gang Gangs in a huge blue gum, and a White-faced Heron that thought it prudent to pull its head in.
Sorry about the quality of the pics as it was very windy and there was a fence in front of the Heron.
Started a couple of tests on some Native Fauna to see how they react to 1.0m3 of Potting Mix each to kickstart [emoji1696][emoji120]

Left: Eucalyptus Sideroxylon Rosea (Red Ironbark)
Right: Eucalyptus Melliodora (Yellow Box/Yellow Ironbark)
We struggle up here in the old gold mining hills dead dirt to get any real natives up and away, hopefully this will work and the Great Grandkids can have some decent safe shade and or a nice bar top slab [emoji23][emoji106][emoji106]

Went for a bit of a drive around the coast. We saw a big old mangy fox, that looked remarkable like a Thylacine. No wonder people reckon they exist.
Got this shot within half an hour of getting to Cape Nelson. A Southern Right that was way off the coast, at the very edge of this cameras ability.
