It's called border track and it's literally on the border between VIC and SA Pinnaroo to border town
The main track is about 60km but we stayed on it for about 90km rather than taking the main road
It's a good half days drive due to the sandy dunes but you could easily spend a few weeks exploring the national parks nearby like Murray sunset, hattah, wyperfield, little dessert, big dessert etc and you still wouldn't see it all
Japanese Gardens just off the campus of the University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba. Great place to chill.

Stayed a Mundulla Footy Oval and had meals at the local pub. Quiet, Reasonably cheap and very friendly place. Did the Border Track and found it be be a very interesting drive.
Word of warning though, we nearly had Disco roll when it got caught in a deceivingly super deep rut.
Took this one of a moth in the PNG Highlands this morning. Big bugger!

Get some great skies up here sometimes. Playing with ISO settings and trying to keep my hand in when working. Subject matter can get a bit limiting though...

We were based in the Kulgera road house
The Kulgera roadhouse had just been built and Marla Bore was just getting started

Yep.......some nice cars getting around my area, that blue HK ute is immaculate.........& puts out 2500 hp to boot.
Twenty 600 hp V8 Sprint Cars going around a 1/4 mile track used to make me drool too, although that might have been the methanol fumes!

VK - those old SLR5000 Torana's were top shit. I so wanted one, but never could afford one. I still reckon they are one of the most underated but overperforming pieces of speed based horn machine ever invented.
One day...
Great shots too mate. Fantastic.
Got to agree with you there FNQGU, you don`t see many on the roads anymore, can`t remember the last time I saw one in the flesh. A few guys up my way had them back in the day, used to drool over the Canary Yellow one a mate had............those where the days!
Cheers.
Took these shots today. Circular Polarising Filter and slow-ish shutter speeds.

And a crack at a bit of a panorama across another small waterfall....
http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/a...psnk3us1w4.jpg
Yep, got a 6 and a 10-stop. Only the circular type though, so if I join them together I get the vignette blues like this...
http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps6avysrta.jpg
Although, when trying to be arty farty, it can come in handy.
Another example of the vignette factor. One day I might invest in the square type clamp on whatever they are called system to avoid this. Mind you, with a little cropping, they can make for an interesting shot. Not that this one was a good photo at all, but it was 162 seconds exposure, F16, ISO 200 (as low as my little Olympus will go).
http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/a...psruopftx9.jpg
Yep, have the same problem when stacking circular filters at 18mm or smaller focal length. Using a Cokin filter system now to avoid that (not that I use them much).

They are a bit pricey, but very good quality compared to a cheaper set I first bought. Have full & graduated filters in 2, 4 & 8 stop which can be stacked. Graduated come in handy for balancing a bright sky against the foreground in landscapes.
Like the streaky sky shot, adds a bit of drama to a landscape, will have to get out & do some one day. That "little Olympus" takes a nice photo from the ones I`ve seen on here!
It's a pocket power-house camera really. Has nearly all of the features of a big dslr, without the weight. A few noise related challenges due to the small sensor, but overall I like it.
Here are a couple I took last night under the near full moon. Location was Grassy Knoll - Cooktown, and where I finally camped at 2am at Archer Point.

Frosty, I've got the EM-5 Mark II. It's an interchangeable lens type and I have three different lenses and a couple of filters. I decided I wanted to learn a bit more about the dark arts of the Manual modes so this was my first foray into 'a better camera' than my trusty 12MP Canon compact that I've used for years.
http://i935.photobucket.com/albums/a...psp7kso6xa.jpg
Another from this morning at Archer Point, near Cooktown.
You don't seem to be struggling with the dark art tho'... you're producing some great pics!
I took these shots a while ago and I think I posted one on here from Chillago at the time. Finally got around to stacking 40 of them into a subtle star trails type of shot but kept the Milky Way visible. In hindsight, I should have taken an exposure earlier for the foreground so it was more visible. Next time...
Not sure if I like the effect or not. Looks like it is raining stars.

Having a play around with Tilt-Shift or Miniature Effect. Luckily my camera has a built in filter for this. Proper lenses for this can cost quite a bit. Photos need to be taken from above for it to work properly but this one turned out ok.

That is bloody clever! Super interesting effect!
Hi FNQGU,
Looks like all your pictures are no longer visible on the forum. All I get is a generic thumbnail and when I click it the link goes to your Photobucket account but doesn't load.
Not sure whats happened but I miss your pictures and I'm sure plenty of others do as well.
Thanks guys, wasn't aware of the issues. Flickr might be an option if it keeps occurring.
VK - what is the name of that in-camera filter you're playing with? And what camera is it for that matter? I haven't seen a filter of that sort before. Interesting.
The camera is a Pentax K-30 & the filter is called Tilt-Shift. Don`t know if other cameras have it or not.
Found an editing program that has it if you want to try it. Interesting to have a play around with. Has some other good features & film effects as well. Photoscape
Couple I did using Photoscape.
