First vid heading up the track after the rock section and the second is me reversing back down ripping my car apart to rescue that meat head...??
I did not reset my camera and it just over writes previous data so missed out on heaps.... I got slack!!

That would be pretty gnarly in the wet...lol
Can't load my vids as each one is 3.15gig you tube is saying 280 minutes per video gotta be a better way to do it any suggestions. And in my defense I was only getting stuck to make johno feel important lol bloody good day can't wait to deck the U out and do that last track again
Just use windows movie maker and edit them into smaller lots...???
Andrew what happened to the pics mate..?
They're coming....... I know, so is Christmas. Flat knacker yesterday. Got a busy day at work today but I'll try and have something done by tonight......
Tip tip tip......tap tap tap....
Some of the down hill stuff would be terrifying in the wet.... but alas it was not to be... it was as dry as it could be and yet again the bloody dust!!!!
Well at least you got to practise your reversing skills and panel beating skills
This morning after dropping off Erica I washed the car came home then striped out the rear guards and fitted the good old bunnings garden edging and put my road tyres on....
I am going to clean up the old guards and repair the tangs and re-paint them... I like the original guards !!
Also replaced my rear indicator and stop lamp after a snatch strap let go..........???? it smashed it good and proper.. these were not mine straps and were Supercheap ones... the winch extension strap that broke was mine and it was a Supercheap one also..
I have been replacing my straps slowly with ARB ones and will not buy cheap recovery straps... food for thought guys????
When 4wd action did a strap test a few years back SuperCheap were one of a few that excelled in the test, some of the bigger names failed
Wash in warm soapy water inspect for frayed bit if found chuck it or use for dragging logs around camp
Bit of inspection and maintenece will stop your straps breaking, only good for 6 big recoveries not life
never have never will ,if it looks suss chuck it. saftey at stake here
My ones are not supercheap ones the ridge Ryder from supercheap the big ones snapped because we had to do something stupid to move the car as I had no winch and need to be abit more gentle on snatching but that was not a track for a stock 4b but I'm not gonna back down to a challenge either that's what I went out for. TD it was a brand new one aswell just a bad snatch
Well mine was a Supercheap (Ridgeryder) one and it is the second one of the same type that has busted with not much strain...
My ARB snatch strap feels so much stronger and I have put the bugger to the test with some big snatches..
Anyway GQ's rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well i dont know about snatch straps and such they look pretty
deadly to me and expensive ? Whats wrong about useing a snig chain
It must be that we are Older & Wiser Mate but I agree. The use of Snatch Straps for all Recoveries has become the Norm with some dire results.
The old Chain will get most vehicles out with the exception of those bogged to the Arse (But not all).
This is starting to touch on a subject I am concerned about and that is driving through Bog Holes when there are alternative ways around.
We will be locked out of the High Country one day due to the damage done by 4WD's
Well guys this was about me reversing as far as I could to reach Healy who was stranded with no LSD, we had to put 2 lines together as I could not get close enough.... now if you could carry a chain that bloody long with you with out all that weight then it would be done.
The distance back was great and it had to be towed about 250 meters through very heavily rutted terrain up hill and there was no other way!!!
as we know mate if its bogged that bad the snatch is not going to move it
the highcountry is mosty locked up over winter along with most of the parks
now would be a good time to buy a property with acres and turn it into a 4x4 park
because it is quite on the cards for this to happen
All good mate... I did a fair bit of damage just from reversing back down that track but you do what you have to do to get your mates through, if you can not handle pin striping or the odd bump or mud guard or flap ripped off then you should take up golf.
Come on Jonathan, start organising the next one!
I dont care I started the thread for the next trip... and yes I know about the fires and yes it is at Tallarook...
Yes working on it... be patient children..
Yeh but its not everyones easter !!!!
I dont go away for Easter... I might arrange for the weekend after Easter...???
Only weekend I am booked out for is queens birthday which is ages away so whateveryou set Jonathan ill be there with pants on!
Hey heals did you manage to shrink your footage yet
Nah I'm having no luck mate wife's gonna get on to it tonight I'm no good with a computer. Video quality is really good however as it always happens battery would run out on most of the tracks as we noticed on the last track I had left the Bluetooth on hopefully have at least one up tonight
It means he doesn't wanna go away for Easter because every single person in the whole world will be wherever we wanna go!
You'd need to take time off earlier than that to get a spot.... hmmmm if only we knew someone who was retired like yourself Kriso with the big......................
