This trip is gonna be a pearler! If we are getting so many interstaters putting in such a huge effort to be there should we try and get a reccy trip in a week or so before it to find where the best snow will be at?

Maybe go with a couple of extra days(can sleep in back of truck, below the snow line preferable). Would not mind some time out to check for trout swimmers in the river around. Any knowledge, all ears.

Noted that it is closed season for the fishing so no joy there. Withdrawals!!

Hey mate, just saw this post. We’ll be traveling Friday morning early through Cann River, Orbost, Bairnsdale, etc. looks like same way as you.
Haven’t figured out times as yet might if you want to travel together you’re more then welcome to.
I can fill you in what you’re about to encounter in the hillls...lol
