Apparently you can get some service in some parts of the park but yeah not sure on Optus mate...

Danny has been speaking with the owner of Loveday who is at the Brisbane 4x4 show and then to his son who is onsite in Loveday, They are on Flood alert and there is a possibility that our proposed Campsite may be altered if the flood arrives as planned. Watch this space. Danny will post here when more is known.

Rest assured though we will be accommodated and our meetup will go ahead.

Thanks mate, I stuffed up and my ebay sales are finishing on the 4th so need internet access for a few minutes one of those days. I'll just go into town to sort it out...all good.

Got my google docs spreadsheet all sorted out now with everything I need to do before Wednesday. The list is long and I'm going shopping tonight. Should get rid of half of the list, haha.

Gettin close, gettin reeeaaallll close. Any more word on the floods? Any word on the weather for next week? Maybe one of you good ADELADIAN sorts could let us know next weeks weather forecast.

Lastly, what are the starry nights up there like? Can you see a lot more.. errm, stuff? For instance, where I live in the Eastern Suburbs of Melb, we cannot see the Milky Way. I was gonna have a crack at taking some sky photos. Never done it before though.

Oh I forgot.. and most importantly.. anyone know if there's phone reception out at Loveday? I'm picturing this place in the middle of the desert, but I figure if there's shops within 20min drive, reception might be ok?

Apparently there are places in the park where you can get reception. You would have to assume that you could get reception in town too!

I've found "Loveday Tavern" which i down near "Gerard".. but the other Loveday results are just Loveday itself, or the business PO box in town. Was hoping to see some kind of Race Track from the satelite image. :)

Yeah your right, the one I found is in town. I'm guessing it's north of the town??? Maybe someone that knows will help out lol

FiREwOOD We can purchase fire wood from Tony at Loveday but its not the cheapest, ill see if i can strike a deal up with him, but if ya see any cheap bags on your journey maybe grab one as your not permitted to "collect" wood on the property, though occasionally larger branches have fallen onto my camp fires ssshhhh. My crooza mates apparently gunna bring some old stumps down and ill grab some if i see it at any servos.

I actually hadnt unpacked it from last time hahahahahahahahahaha hadnt driven her either, so todays been checking that everythings CLEAN and fit for purpose....... :bananarock:
