Damage report broken right auto locking hub .
replaced oil in rear diff all looks good , thinking the locker had not released properly
cannot get it to make the bang sound again it only happened when going around left hand corner. It did it once for the mechanic yesterday but hasn't done it
So I will keep a eye on it and get nissan to check it out next service .
Pretty happy with that out come
No didn't Manuel lock the hubs , I no some people do this and I will do this from now
but the mechanic said he never has and doesn't think it makes much difference .
I think I might have done the damage on the last trip up too the high country
Yeah i remember asking Rosco whether your other front wheel was spinning as it didn't look like it was, but i couldn't see from where i was standing.
I manually lock the hubs when doing harder tracks although i didnt on the weekend. i will next time i go back as i've heard of instances of them unlocking when reversing back down rock steps and what not.
Sooooooo I guess that means the gu got up in 2wd then haha :icon_victory:
No it wouldn't have happened with out the help from you guys thanks
Welcome to the forum mate. I was the guy with the GU up front.
Thanks for snatching andy out it was not a job I was looking forward to.
Though you do really need to get a front recovery point sorted Andy. I've got the factory hook from mine you can have if it fits
Anyway enough about Yota's..... Hey Pickers it is not that you did it in 2wd over a gq it is testament to the nissan LSD.... and that would explain why you could not get going under your own steam.
It would not have mattered much even if we had figured what had happened by that stage...
Andy sort out some front recovery ya bone head..
Yeah AB!!!
I have some great news too!!!
My hoarding brother has two Warn high mounts and I convinced him to give me one.
Needs a full rebuild which my good friend Mr MudRunnerTD is going to help me....lol
He wanted to put one on the front and the other on the rear of his GU so he could drag trees up his property. I tried for months begging him that it is a huge waste of a high mount and after sever persistence he gave in....YAY!!!
I have killed people you know.....
Hahahahaha too funny guys
Hey, I was at the top of aeroplane track on Saturday with a few mates. Myself in my GU & another mate in a GQ & another mate in his, 80 series.
We come across a couple of you guys at the top. Me & my mate in his GQ decided not to tackle Aeroplane coz it was pretty shagged out & we both had young kids in the car. But my mate in the white 80series went down with his misses. Typical Toyota owner likes to brag about recovering the 2nd Patrol that went down & got stuck. I also noticed the Redback dirty gear bag, same as mine that I purchased off AB as the second vehicle went back down Aeroplane. That's when I realised it was you guys.
Who did he recover?
I can't believe how much Aeroplane track has gone to crap over the last couple of months

I was talking to AB at the top, we've never met personally, but emailed each other several times when his first batch of Redback dirty gear bags were up for grabs. Since I put my bag on, it's never come off the vehicle, it's travelled to the Cape & all around Oz with me. Still holds up as strong as it was when I 1st purchased it. Top quality manufacturing.
Shit hey, small world.

So most importantly, when are we going back for another run? Sunday the 1st of June perhaps?
