Philosophical Question....
How much deeper would the ocean be if sponges didn't live there?
Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson are on a camping trip.
In the middle of the night, Holmes nudges Watson awake, and says, "Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see."
"I see millions of stars, my dear Holmes."
"And what do you infer from these stars?"
"Well, a number of things," he says, lighting his pipe:
Astronomically, I observe that there are millions of galaxies and billions of stars and planets.
Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo.
Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three.
Meteorologically, I expect that the weather will be fine and clear.
Theologically, I see that God is all-powerful, and man, his creation, small and insignificant.
What about you, Holmes?"
"Watson, you fool. Someone has stolen our tent!"

Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it.
- MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.
Interpretation: Whereas hatred causes paralysis, confusion, and darkness, love is mobilizing, harmonizing, and illuminating. In other words, love is the antidote to hate.
Tell me who admires you and loves you, and I will tell you who you are.
- ANTOINE DE SAINT-EXUPÉRY
Interpretation: The people who love and look up to you say a lot about who you are. For example, if only the people you give money to love you, you are a rather pathetic person who has to “buy” friendship. On the other hand, if you are loved by many people whom others also love and respect, then you are likely a great person who is worthy of admiration.
“The things you push away the hardest when you’re young,
you end up embracing when you get older.”
~ Rosanne Cash
If they are cooked correctly I love them and like you Guys used to gag every time I ate them.
“Never regret.
If it’s good, it’s wonderful.
If it’s bad, it’s experience.”
~ Victoria Holt
Absence diminishes mediocre passions and increases great ones, as the wind extinguishes candles and fans fires.
- FRANÇOIS DE LA ROCHEFOUCAULD
Interpretation: You have probably heard the saying, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder,” in regards to love. This quote presents an extension of that idea. It means that while the absence of a much-loved person or passion (say, playing the violin indeed makes you realize how much you really love that person or thing, absence actually makes you forget about people and pursuits that you don’t feel strongly about. This perfectly fits the metaphor of wind blowing out small flames (candles) but increasing large ones (fires).
Why is it called a tube of tooth paste, when you have a whole mouth of teeth to clean?
Why is it called a jar of peanut paste, when more than one peanut went in to making it?
The things that make you go hmmm.
We cannot do great things on this Earth, only small things with great love.
- MOTHER TERESA
Interpretation: Rather than pursuing some overly ambitious goal that will satisfy your ego, turn your attention and care to the smaller details of your immediate daily life. For example, rather than trying to save all the children in the world, do your best to love your own children and treat them well.
“Charm is the ability
to make someone else think
that both of you are pretty wonderful.”
~Kathleen Winsor
Hate leaves ugly scars; love leaves beautiful ones.
- MIGNON MCLAUGHLIN
Interpretation: Although love causes pain and permanently changes us, the imprint it leaves on our lives is lovely. The permanent damage inflicted by hate, on the other hand, is hideous.
“Charm is a way of getting the answer yes
without asking a clear question.”
~ Albert Camus
