Bought a cheap wet/dry shop vac to clean out the underground pipe from the house to the water tank. It worked a treat, after the drain caps were opened and the smelly water level dropped I got 5 x 15 litres of really nasty stuff out. Then went and cleaned all my gutters in a quarter of the time it used to take. I will have to spend some cash to re-plumb the down pipes above ground.
I'll make a fitting that easily reaches the gutter under the projecting edge of the tin, and that will make it even quicker. I might also tape the wheels up so the vac doesn't tend to roll off the roof
I got myself one of these blowers for blowing out my gutters. Works a treat weighs bugger all so it's easy to handle when I'm on the roof and has no cords or hoses to trip on. I already had the batteries so the blower only cost $59.

Shop Vac super, stainless steel tub. $85 I paid way too much, but I needed it today, so I could get the system ready for the wet weather due this weekend. Also, the vac got rid of most of the algae and moss a blower wouldn't touch. I have seen them advertised for $47 at Godfreys. But there isn't an outlet anywhere near me.
