Unfortunately not. Specifically like the bit at the base of the blade to assist with opening the knife :)

Ive put thumb screws on a few of mine to assist in opening
Yeah I've seen that a few times. A good option. This essentially allows a quick push and a flick of the wrist to open it one-handed. [emoji106]
The SW knife from Amazon, is that the only place you've managed to find it?

Have seen on a couple of other sites too. All say discontinued. Basically hoping someone might see one in a shop one day (old stock) and think of me. Lol.
Roger Roger, will keep an eye out and will check with some dealer / wholesalers I know and see what I can find

Awesome mate, would appreciate it [emoji106]
Can't remember what they used to retail at in Aus. Remember being surprised that they were a pretty good price. Possibly got my last one around $50 so I'd probably pay up to $60 or so?
Yeah you can get a decent knife for $60, both OD and myself have brought some rippers for under $60
Have you emailed Gerber direct, Ive emailed Buck on a few occasions with great results, even sent a
110 folder back for repair for free.
See Gerber are part of the Fiskar group see how you go

Gerber? Do they have anything to do with Smith and Wesson knives? (Don't know so figure I'd ask). Either way contacting them is a good idea.
Nah scrap that Im onto it gimme 5 min

This is the closest I could find prices sounds great

Cheers mate. Second link is not far off though I'll see if I can find a version without the Tanti blade.
Looks like they have eased off the 'flick' opening style that the one I was looking for had...
Appreciate the effort... :icon_victory:
Id email Smith and Wesson direct with a model number
and freight costs and see what they come up with
What do you need the knife for?
I may be able some similar for you but maybe a different brand though.

In essence I don't really need it at the moment mate. Still have one of them but was thinking I'd get a spare or two if I could find them knowing that they aren't being made any more. It's one (of the many I own) that I'd hate to be without, but I also don't want to sit it on a shelf and not use it just so I can keep it around if you know what I mean? [emoji4]
No worries, wasn't sure if it was for hunting etc

Have any of you found any fixed blade knives with a curve like the attached, more of a pronounced curve ?
Attachment 63803
Not as steep as that but I have with various Bowie style knives

I have a Fox & Hound upswept skinner with a huge curve
Took the plunge and ordered 1 of the little tantos that TD posted earlier and was just delivered.
Very sturdy little knife and reasonably sharp out of the box but does need finishing, damn near 5mm thick across the spine and the scales are pretty good though a bit thick to be fully comfortable but they can be removed and the leather sheath is pretty good for a cheapie.
Only major downside is that it's a chisel blade instead of hollow ground both sides.

Dont worry mate just a bit quiet, thats all. I think that style blade would have some advantages over
a normal type blade.
Well decided to start finishing a few blanks I have plus one Im doing from scratch.
The pic is of a Seki city drop point I made for Simon of 4WDTV fame,
I have 2 blanks and plenty of scales to mix and match, Simons one has streaky Buff scales
and the pins are from a hinge up at Qantas. ha ha you pic what plane and what hinge.
Thats the easy bit. the 2nd one Im dying to finish is my Damascus clip point Buck 110 folder copy
but with a fixed blade, I have most parts cut ready to fix. I'll also be doing a bit of file work on the spine.
This fixed Buck 110 has been on the back burner for quite a while now so time to knock it out of the park, lol
The bone and red gum handles are from 2 fillet knives I made a while back
Some nice work bud, been working out some designs for a sheath I've been commissioned for but can't quite get it so that I'm happy to start making it.
Will post up some pics when I work it put

One thing Id do in hindsight on that redgum handle is not follow the blade down
but to finish it with a circle a lot better to look at IMO, but that was one of the first
knives I made and having a redgum sheath as well its well special to me.. Might
get you to post that sheath back if thats ok. will get some material out and take
a pic so ppl here can have some imput on how it will look.
That bone fillet knife I scrimshawed a fish on it with an engineers scriber and rubbed
some ash into it actually came up alright but I dont have pics , it was a gift to a mate.
Irish just use old saw blades not sure why you want an anvil
Which sheath was it? The one for the Winchester?
Never underestimate the power of the tap, let it flow through you.
Yeah the winchester sheath, please sort make that my big camp knife and the stone
washed tanto and stone washed Mtech axe my other two for camp duties
@ OD came across these thought they may be handy other gear in the shop not much
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10pcs-5-7...item6b4fec459e
I missed out on that anvil you messaged me about.
Mainly want it because I like the idea of forging stuff, once I put my setup together I want to have a go at a tomahawk/hiking hatchet. But yeah old sawblades look like a very popular option.
I have some 3' and 2' blades here bout 6mm thick from a saw mill up BoHo way
but Im not cutting them up.
Im going to get a car spring and turn it into a mean mother Kurkri knife,
hopefully have a 10mm spine, I have a forge [never used it yet]
and a decent anvil if you ever want to play. The guy at the local Chicken
shop has half decent coal/charcoal in bags
All that knife work I was going to do are now on the back burner GRrrrr
anyway,,, my son is doing road works in the streets of a rich part of
town and everyone is using his skip to dump their rubbish. He came home
with a knife and scuba regulator, no idea why they would throw it out
Anyway Im hoping Apollofish or any other diver can give some input on it,all its says is Posiedon
4300psi, the mouthpiece looks brand new
Any of you guys watched this show?

Hi Jase I know you're lurking in the back ground,
anyway I logged into a mob in the States called IMA-USA
and if you remember your Bayonet that had a bit of age about it.
Well I think I have some info on it, Could it possibly be a Gurkha east
india Co. Brown Bess Musket socket bayonet.
Its very similar to your one, price was $395 US.
Trust things are going well after the OP,
Wassup TD,
Still floating around, doing pretty well after the Op.
Last few days a bit rough with a pinched muscle in my back but start hydro Thursday.
Been very low key and basically haven't touched any LW recently except for Burke's sheath.
From memory with what I've found is that it's a Brown Bess musket from the late 1890's but an NZ issue.
I

All good still waiting for my op , new insurance Co as of the FY
That Bayonet is seen every where does it have any regiment marking??
Im in contact with IMA USA atm, How would it get to NZ was this pre Colony.???
Dont forget that sheath when your up and at em to please
any new blades ????
The old man bought it back from NZ from a dealer, will look for markings again as they're pretty faint last time I checked.
Did get given another bayonet last month that I've not begun to research yet but dad thinks it's possibly Belgian.
I did scoop up a Colt last month as well as there's been a few articles recently that they're moving away from knives
