Fitted a small plug with a water proof inline fuse to plug the solar trickle charger. I used the plug's pair as a waterproof cap. The only thing I don't like about it is that the positive is the exposed pin.

I just brought this waterproof 50 amp anderson plug casing that might do that better,
even has a very small led to let you know you have power going to the plug

Only .1 Amps (100 mA) maximum, TD. That plug would be overkill. Wouldn't mind having a plug like that with an isolating switch and voltage spike protection, to use with jumper cables though.
I suppose I should as all of the connections from the vehicle are the same, which makes it easy to short out the battery or blow fuses on the sockets.
Locked her away in the 'big' shed. :(
