want to show me the grease nipple thing too? :-)
Hey guys, I am out for this weekend. Just too much stuff on.
Ive got one Cruiser confirmed in for sat & sun, and another Cruiser and a BT50 for a sunday day run, think we will have enough Toyotas for a friendly Toyota verses Nissan driver challenge (not necessarily in the cars either)
:bananarock:
Howdy
this is the best I could do for directions - it's start point on the attached file is from the Nissan Dealership in Beaudesert ... the end point is just on the roundabout at Swan Gully Road - then you follow directions on the top of the PDF that's attached??
Steve (04OFF), you may have to add some detail for the last part of the run mate, as I couldn't make heads nor tails of what old mate out there was telling me!!!!
Thanks all and looking forward to a bottler weekend!!!!!

Yeh Sorry Scotty ,im gettin there mate, had a few PC issues to fix...... all good now (i think) :1087:
Please Standby......:p
Bob and Doreen are coming as well
Here is a link to a location map on the park web site.....
http://www.scenicrimadventurepark.com.au/contact-us
But as i found the first time, the web instrutions kinda suck, Ive put together my own basic instructions (and GPS coordinates) to help those that have never been (or just wan't to know) how to get to Scenic Rim adventure Park.
Travel down Beaudesert -Boonah Rd (toward Beaudesert), turn into Sandy Creek RD (Bromelton)
Travel all the way down Sandy Creek RD (top right on pic, passes thru the word adventure), turn right at the roundabout, then first left onto a narrow dirt road/track (A)
http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3...cenicentry.jpg
Entry point to the dirt road "A" (that leads to Scenic Rim 4x4 park) via Google Earth GPS.......
Latitude 27°59'41.21"S
Longitude 152°55'39.79"E
Or, cut and paste the following into the Google Earth "Fly To" box....
27°59'41.21"S 152°55'39.79"E
From the previous post, Follow (A) this un-sealed rd, leads all the way to the park, (this track is also used to get to a different 4x4 park, City View), follow signs to Scenic Rim Adventure Park.
if unsure, bear left at all track junctions
http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j3...entryroad2.jpg
("A" is the track you will already be on, leading from the roundabout) , when you get to the junction , track "B" leads to City View (do NOT take this road), make sure to keep left.
At the second junction take track "1" (or bear left again) UNLESS you are in a 2WD vehicle ,or towing a car , caravan/non off road trailer, then you may use the smoother track "2"
Gogle Earth, for this image
27°59'41.93"S 152°54'0.22"E
See Previous ^ page for start of travel instructions
So from previous post ,most of you, or those of you without Trailers etc, will be on track "1"
You will come across a closed but unlocked wire cattle gate, procceed through and close behind yourself. (watch out for cow poop when you jump out)
Eventually, after a bit more driving, you will end up down at the front gate (shown below, with white arrow)
Proceed to office (tip of green arrow) here you pay fees, get map etc
The red arrow marks the Nissan Patrol.com.au camp site (campsite 1), Bigrig (Scotty) will have arrived on Friday morning, and "should" be reachable on UHF channel 17

Hope everyone can understand all this, if your not sure about anything please ask/post
BIG Thanks to everyone making the effort to come out !:049:
Ha-ha, i struggled to capture screen at first, until i found out the windows 7 "starter" on my netbook, does not support the capture function, then when i went to use my "proper" laptop, i found that google earth had "disappeared" completely (im like WTF !).
So after stuffing around downloading everthing again, i still couldn't get the shortcut you described to work, so i just found my own way to do it, after that the rest was easy, just took longer than i expected !
So it can be found easy, I have also put the Maps and instructions in the 4X4 Parks listings (under Todds scenic rim thread HERE)
It might be useful to someone planing future trips to scenic rim anyway

Did you get the banner Scotty?
Just thought id re-post the link to directions to scenic rim HOW TO GET THERE ?
Hope to catch up with you all sometime over the weekend, drive safe.
We will be on UHF channel 17
Scotty was right, it was a cracker trip and I was only there for the day today.
Before I left this afternoon there were around 15 cars in our group and something like 50 people and 7 or 8 dogs.
My day wasn't as good as it could have been, a slipping auto transmission meant Nugget (my Terrano) made it no further than the campsite. A big thanks to Steve (04OFF) for allowing myself and my 2 boys to accompany him in his Patrol for the morning drive.
Thanks to Scott for organising another great trip.
Tony
Thanks 4 the pics Tony, sorry 2 here about Nuggets gearbox, know that all feeling all 2 well atm. Looking forward 2 this thread update :)
Nice shots Tony.. The arrow pointing to Brissy, is it ?
I think I kinda went 4x4ing with you guys and didnt even realise it. ( didnt see this thread until tonight ) A mate and I had a little muck around at Scenic Rim today. He was in a Blue 4Runner 4" lift, 33" muds & front locker and I was in my gold GU stock suspension and newly added 285/70R16 KM2's. Anyway I recognise a few of the trucks in the pics above and somehow ended up in front of the red GQ along Slippery Hills/Carwash Lane. Sorry guys I would have stopped and had a bit more of a chat if I knew you were from the forum! Dunno how i missed the banner haha
It was my first time out there and while I found the maps difficult to read/innacurate. I still had an absolute ball. Even though I was really happy with how my truck performed, I found myself missing my old trucks. ( 80 Series cruiser 4" lift, rear locker, 33's sliders, winch etc & also my Gu Coil Cab, 4" lift, 33's, Sliders, Winch etc ) Thinking about heading back next weekend for the Suspension Stuff challenge.
I remember seeing the blue 4Runner and I think I saw your Patrol as well. There's always next time mate, you just need to check in on the forum a bit more often.
Tony
Yeah cant miss the rat bag 4runner lol. You can be forgiven for missing my Gu though, pretty standard at the moment. Only difference to any other Gu there was the 4800 sticker on the door! Will be keen for the next trip away for sure. I envy the other members who are still there, no doubt sitting around the campfie with a cold refreshment in hand. Pics guys, Pics and footage!
Great photos Tony, I see the crappy banner made it up there too...lol
Left the scenic rim just aftyedr 1200 to day after a fantastic weekend thanks to scotty organisation he has set the bar bloody high for my trip in october LOL
arrived late friday night set camp and was close enough to beaudesert to slip into town for dinner tracks were fantastic on the saturday good steep hills and even had to get the winch out over one small part easy done unfortunatly had to be home early on sunday. just as well after the storm the rolled through this afternoon hope it didnt hit the park to hard as they are staying on till monday and from the tracks i saw it would not take much rain to make a lot of them impassable.
will be loading my pics up later on tonight for all to see.
thanks again to scotty for organizing the weekend job well done bloke thanks again
yep, also had a great weekend. Camped up on the hill to leave more room for the camper trailers down below. Need to bring a back pack next time, as when we went for a social visit to the lowlanders we seemed to run out of drinkies at about 04OFF's camp :-)
Only had to move 50 metres from camp to find a creek crossing that stopped Silver due to factory bull bar meeting rock. Plenty of others got up there with varying degrees of drama.
Nice little play area only a couple of hundred metres from camp that we rolled around having fun with the Billy Lid in the front seat. Even had a play there loaded up with all the camping gear and roof rack bag. Same play area was responsible for the demise of a CV joint - but we stayed out of that particular hole.
Thanks Scotty and Steve for the info and for motivating us to get out. Jason, thanks for the chain saw lesson, a ripper! Steve, sorry to have missed the photography tips, but will catch up next time :-)
Just got home, what a fantastic weekend, another great trip organised by Scotty.
The boys were busy getting a vehicle back on is wheels that had rolled as I was leaving (no one from the forum) but I am sure there will be some stories to tell.
I will try and upload some photos tonight, I was playing with a new camera so I will have to see how they turned out.
heres the first group of photos guys notice the pit crew working on the tank or should say one worker and half a dozen suppervisors LOL
here is the last lot for you all i dont remember who was driving what appart from the obvious so feel free to commit and enjoy,,,, as always it hard to photo your own rig in action so if any one has any good footage of hekarewe doing her thing feel free to ppost them up and i may eveen ask you to email me a copy or three again thanks for the weekend
