I was getting around the 10.4/100km and since fitting the winch I am getting around 11/100km. will be interesting when I have to put new tyres on it and go up from standard to 33's.

Somethings going on and I can't put my finger on it. my 04 is running great all nadded out etc.
since fitting the 305's Tyres by half tank I'm normally around 300-310 k. This tank load I managed 360 kilometres.
Never, ever, ever produced those figures. Even with my 285s I only get 320-330 tops to half tank. Going by these
figures I'd get 400 k with my ATRs. Weird I reckon.
I'm getting about 20/100k on a 99 4.5 duel fuel.
I just did the numbers on my GU8 3liter manual. Driving around town (the Alice) air con 100% of the time. I am getting 11.53 L / 100. The car has done 6000klms now. My last figures gave me 12.3 L / 100. It seems to have improved with a bit of driving.
Used 3/4 of the main tank towing my camper to the murray and back total of 500k
sat on 110kph with 305 muddies
Hi. Just come back from a Queensland trip via Sydney both up and back. A mix of highway cursing at 110km to stuck in traffic. 4483.8 Kilometres used 682.97 litres, mileage was 15.23 l/100k. Vehicle is a GU7 3.0CRD. full loaded with 2 adults, 3 kids, roof rack and luggage.
Good point thanks mate!
im currently sitting on close to 30ltrs to the 100k on gas. im at a loss of how to fix it also!
I have a GU DX TD42TI ute with a camper on the back which weighs close to 3,900 kgs. The thing that amazes me is not so much the consumption but how regular it is. 12,000 K's to cape york and back 16.7 ltrs. Recent 1700 k trip around vic and nsw, 16.54 ltr's. both trips all conditions except extended sand.
Just did a quick run, Bathurst to Maitland and back, around 700klm. Bathurst to Maitland averaged 9.3l/100, return trip was 11.2l/100. 2 people and little luggage on board. Pretty much just kept to speed limits up and down hills. Pretty pleased with the results.
Fueled up at narnargoon friday arvo topped up the tank with 42 lt of fuel went to tallarook
drove a couple of tracks and drove home sunday total klm 398.7=10.68 l per100 im happy with that
gu 3l turbo wagon
Roofy you need to fill up again to be able to work out consumption for the trip.
I filled up on the way there and filled up on the way home. Used 20L/100km which I don't really think is that bad as most was low range and we were driving for a long time.
If you're happy and you know it tap a post!
Yes but that doesn't mean you used 42L on our trip. Where was the 400km from? I filled up in the Goon on the way in and on the way out and was about 300kms with some extra tracks this morning
If you're happy and you know it tap a post!
@ Roofy what size tyres do you run ??
@ Lonicus again what size tyres ??
2012 ST. Just did the numbers again. 9.8 liters per 100klms. Air con only on about half the time now... 9500 ish klms on the odo. Very happy with this.
93 litres / 825 km .= 8.87 km / litre , 11.27 litre per 100 km . Just fueled after last long weekend trip away to east gippsland and running around town the rest . 04 GU ZD30 auto with mods . Still very happy with my 4B and its performance .
Over the long weekend to Bearii with a full boat and car of camping gear plus a week of driving to work. DPCHIP on 7 for the trip
164.93 litres to 1243kms = 13.27 L/100k
Just returned from 3 weeks on Fraser. Did 645klm and used 133 lt - 20.6 lt per 100klm or 4.8 klm per lt.
All but 40 klm on sand and most of it loose and dry and chopped up quite badly. Drive down from Indian Head to Eurong was good hard sand at low tide but rest including trips across island was slow 1st and 2nd high range work. Normal on road consumption is about 13 lt per 100klm
07 4.8 with extractors and 3" exhaust, full cage roof rack on 33"s always run on 98ron and pretty well always returns 19-20l/100. Seems to be something wrong with the loud pedal as it doesn't want to go slow.
Did a recent run to Exmouth with a heavily laden tinny and boards on the roof and best was 16.6/100 (about 100km/h) and worst was 21.6/100 (about 130km/h with both air cons flat chat)
1990 3L rb30 - I get 150-180kms out of a full tank (85L).. Surely this isn't normal fuel consumption?
GQ TD42 N/A Manual
With a bit of extra weight (Bar, winch, 33's)
14-15ltrs/100kms around town
18ltrs/100km on Fraser for 9 days
Hi chuck here.
The 2012 GUis good for its size!
On the trip to Mildura via Benlow State park we managed 12 lt / 100k with a 700kg camper,
Stooging around the Geelong area her figures are around 14 /100, but her right foot is a brick!!!!!!!!!!(did I say that)
I'm on Option 1 with my license so Im like a granny at about 11.5
litres
Gu ZD30 - 13.8l/100km
Gq TB42e - 18l/100km (LPG)
Dan
Well new tyres, 33x10.5x15
Loaded to the hilt.
A good mix of flat and hill side, and average of 95km/h
Averaged 14.7L / 100k..
Pretty good..
Hi All
Just did a run up to Cervantes and back for Easter (around 660kms all up). Most of the trip dome at 110km/h, some time spent 4WDing in soft sand and touring around the town. Returned 12l/100km. Not too bad as I was pushing a bit up the hills. I suspect it would be a bit more economical to sit on 100km/h tho.
ZD30 auto. 305/70/16.
Hi all,
my '92 GU uses around 11l of diesel per 100km during trips. It is over 350k km already. Often towing the rally car. And then consumption is... hmmm ... higer ;)
artur
11/100 mate that's awesome
I have a GU 2006 3.0 with exhaust and snorkel, otherwise all standard. Just completed very heavily loaded (all camping gear etc) trip from Gold Coast to Alice Springs via Plenty highway, then south to Marla, Oodnadatta, (road all mud and water-heavy going) then back home via Birdsville. Total 7,287 km and 920 litres for 12.3/100. Best was a slow cruise at 80 km/hr for 10 l/100.
Town mileage is usually 13 +
Hi Dr Gary, doing a similar trip with a 3.0 myself in 6 weeks time. From Toowoomba to Alice Springs then on to Katherine Gorge back over to Townsville and back down the coast towing a 14' van. I hope to get 10 -11 litres/100. I have chip,3"exhaust and snorkel fitted to mine. Fuel economy is awesome since fitting these mods!!! Can't wait to get going and having a look at our backyard. Cheers Fang.
We went via Boulia and Plenty Highway. The Plenty is VERY rough and we decided next time to go further north via Barkley Tablelands. That would be a reasonable choice returning to Townsville.
If you choose the Plenty, allow extra time and keep fuel topped up--we got caught at Gem Tree where fuel was $2.30, while Alice was only 140 k down the road and much cheaper.
Let me know how your economy works out
Over the past 14,000 ks in my 4.2 tdi GU IV running 33s I have averaged 15.56 l/100km. Worst 19.95 (Simpson Desert) best 12.56 (Stuart Highway with tail wind).
I use an free app, Total Fuel, to keep track of my fuel consumption.
