Mate, What a rig!!! Love it, I've got the little shorty too and love it, just reading your posts, has given me so many ideas, looks like your pretty handy on the tools too. Cheers and thanks for the insperation
Thanks guys,
Been putting it off for a while now but a mate got done for no mudflaps so thought I better do something about it.
Had a scrounge around the shed and all I could find was 2 bits of different sized RHS that happened to fit together nicely and came up with the following removable set up.
When I done the quater chop I welded 3mm plate to fill in the bottom of it which is quite strong so
I used that as a mounting point.

More about the spare wheel and rear lights to come soon.
Mate good build on the mudflaps, being removable definately makes sense.
The rear bar looks great as well.
Edit mate, just read your whole thread....I would love to have hand-skills like you....awesome build.
Love the shorty, and your DIY skills.
Any idea how much the front and rear bumpers way?
Cheers Dave, I do have hand skills but they stop at the end of a spanner, anything past changing a tyre just about pulls me up I'd love to be able to pull hubs and diffs etc apart. I have never had to do any of that stuff so far but dont think ill get away with it forever with the tracks I take it up,will be interesting to see how I go with it when the time comes.
sibbles mate, the front bar weighs in at about 60kg and at a guess I'd say the rear would be around 20kg maby 25kg.

Mate....
benders, internal and external angles, good welding, cutting once at the right length..making a design, purchasing, cutting and actually building a functional item?
I can change a tyre...bet you can do more than that.
Gotta get myself a little gasless Mig......and start practicing.
Lookout Brisbane Burns Ward.
If you lived in Brissie.....you would have an order (or a dude with a lot of beer, and keen to learn:) )
Cheers
