I have just fitted 35's to mine once I have used the tanks I will report back
The 4 cyl diesels economy is on par with the 6 when heavily loaded, on the recent trip we did the hilux's best economy used 10 lt less fuel than my 4.2 , sometimes less than that, seen similar with the GU 3 lt and prados.
Only measured fuel consumption once on my 2005 4.2 TDi ex Telstra ute with the pod on the back and got 16lt/100km. I'm still running cheesecutters. haha.
99.99% of my driving is on country roads and is mostly driven in a head/cross wind. It doesn't help that the pod protrudes externally of the cab, as it basically acts like a wind anchor.
That's probably why I sit on about 90k's everywhere I go. lol.
Rossco.
Just did a economy check from Casula to North Lakes with a 2 hour stop and go stint in Sydney. I usually drive at or above the posted speed pulling a camper trailer and one box on the roof.
16.2L/100
Okay update now that I have some reliable internet.
$145.99/L at Casula
$147.99/L Brisbane
Casula to Brisbane, 16.2 L/100 with the speedo at 110+ most of the time, only one small box on the roof rack.
North Lakes to Gympie (going up and down the hills in Mapleton multiple times) 15.9 L/100
$145.99 /L Gympie off to Emerald 100k/hr
Emerald (biggest fill up) $146.99 /L (Navigator got some cold coffee drinks for another $0.04 off per liter) 16.02 @ 100 km/hr (as close as I could keep it)
Emerald to Charters Tower with a side trip to Townsville, 16.03 (yup the same)
Charters Tower to Atherton, 16.3 (I put two storage containers on roof rack in CT) $165.99/L
Hi Sonof
How are those 285/75's going.
Notice any difference to fuel economy.
Thanks,
Neil.
