Mate, I don't want abuse, far from it......
Sometimes being in a pub is better than the bistro......

OK i have just read this thread in one sitting as it is laid out over the 6 pages.
I have thanked those that made the most sense along the way.
I simply see no reason why we would need a Sub Forum for a "Pub Like" discussion. Our members get along very well. if there is an issue then it goes into a pm and these pages are left alone while that happens. The Chat feature in this forum is rarely used and i dont see the point. As it stands every thread is a Chat thread for this lot anyway so why on earth would we want a Closed Doors section.
The Mods have a Closed Door section and even we rarely use it. occasionally we need to discuss something and it is just easier than a group pm.
It seems that what your actually chasing is a Relaxed rules area?? Well the Rules are simple and a Fundamental for this forum and probably why this is such a great place with a Great bunch of guys.
A Sub Section as you describe would be a Floor in our Forum rather than a Feature and i just cant see why we would want to Reinvent the wheel when it is doing so well.
As it stands our members behave very well and there is little need to Moderate as it were. But sometimes for the good of the threadd and or forum we need to step in and have a quiet word. NOT VERY OFTEN.
This is a Great Place just the way it is i reckon. ;)
As I said earlier.......
I'm out numbered and accept AB's decision as he mentioned at the start
It was good to see/hear what the members want
Happy for the mods to close this topic off.
No harm done mate we all want this forum to be at its best and welcome all sugestions.
I was the one that suggested the live chat "chatbox" to ab a while back as it worked a treat on another forum, it hasn't quite caught on here for some reason but I know how your thinking however I think I'm with the majority on this one as I can see it putting tension between people and spilling into the family forum.
It's not a case of being out numbered mate it's just a case of what works for this forum and why people come back to it on a daily basis.
As I've said before, there are other threads that we can run amuck in, with out the need for a sub forum. Yes we still adhere to the forum rules but maybe test the boundaries from time to time.
I like your idea an in no way knocking it, just don't think it's required.
Don't stroke it, TAP it!!!!.....
