Use a strip of Aluminium instead of washers, doesn't need to be as wide as mine but will support the flare nicely.
Dab of sika on the rivet will seal up the hole also and help prevent rust.

Yes when I had rubber flares I had a thin metal strip on the rubber and riveted it on, very sturdy and no chance of pulling thru.
Decided on some much larger SS rivets and found some washers to suit which won't pull through.
Install tomorrow!

Putting the flares on and didn't realise how hard something must have hit the hard nose. Pushing up against it too.
Mine is the same. I winched it back out and bent it in again last weekend. It doesn't take much
All done, holds the shape really well but without that wire insert they would look like a bag of poo.
Pissing rain so ill take some better pics out of the carport soon!
You must use silicone spray to run that wire aswell ;)
