tick tock tick tock tick tock nup that doesnt make it go any quicker.
One more yell out HELLOOOOOOO WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM BORED
Stop yelling I'm trying to sleep
No, I'm not here
Welllllll I'm gunna pi55 off then hahahahaha
How are you guys going and why are ya awake it's bloody late
pretty good thanks growlers, and buggered if I know - seem to have got my second wind.
I should be in bed as tomorrow I'm off to the range tomorrow to fire a mate's Merkel double rifle. I believe it is a .450 nitro express. It will either permanently cure me of ever getting a flinch, or give me a real bad one, I reckon :-)
I'm surprisingly good for being so late or early whatever you want to call it!!!
Night shifts........who ever thought of doing them was a sadist.
Silver, the excitement of the shoot got to you?
Could be XTC, I usually shoot a mild mannered 6.5x55.
I packed the front and rear rest in case it was required, and then thought, no, I don't think one generally fires one of those big doubles off a bench rest
'night XTC and nowoollies.
Sounds like a wild combination
I used to do a bit of pistol shooting many years ago, and used to cart around a 12 gauge coach gun when traveling but never really got into rifle shooting.
Handed in my coach gun when all the laws started to change. Kicked myself ever since, as the gun was a handmedown from my grandfather.
evening / morning to any lurkers out there
morning Andy
what you doing up at this hour mate
sorry growlers and nowoolies, must have got you mixed up last night :-(.
nowoolies, the bloke who owns the double gave me a spare strap on recoil pad following some shoulder surgery I had - I call it my man bra.
That may help :-)
growlers, the 6.5 x 55 isn't the flattest shooter around, but is flat enough, and with the right projectiles is very ballistically efficient, and is being rediscovered for long range shooting. There is some modern competition in that role too, same caliber, different case and powder. Mine shoots better than I do :-)
XTC, it was going to be an interesting trip to the Ripley Range today, alas called off because the bloke who owns the double, and another who owns a Winchester 92 in .45 long colt are a bit weary after a late arrival from Melbourne. The plan was we'd meet a local mate of mine out there, and have a play with the local bloke's .45 1911 pistol, and both rifles - a real smorgasbord of .45s. Oh well. We are off to a place near St George in a couple of days chasing oinkers, so I'll get to play with the rifles there.
It is a shame what was handed in, esp when there was an heirloom/family connection. I reckon you were by no means the only one.
yeah, nowoolies, I gather that firing some of those big African and Indian doubles is only marginally better than being eaten or stomped on :-) I'm also told that in the field, standing, with a Cape Buff eyeing you off, the recoil goes un-noticed.
Maybe I'll have to get one of my mates to give me a fright to get the adreniline pumping before I have a shot :-)
Perhaps he could tell me that he is not shouting me the 2 crackers, and that I'll have to pay for same :-/
Hooroo all.
just thought i,d pop in 4 a quickie ;-)
Wow, that was a quickie. No 1 here to talk to. Night anyone haha ;-)
morning all
on this fine sunny day
Evening all.
Well what an eventful BBQ.
We had to dial 000
Cooked the BBQ then put the gas bottle in the Patio heater and the gas bottle caught alight!!
We don't know why it caught alight yet. VERY SCARY!!!!
We had to evacuate all the people to out the front and the neighbours as well and wait for the fire trucks to arrive.
Lucky for us one of the fire fighters on call lived up the road from us and he was first to get here and stopped our house from going up!!
We are fairly shaken but no one was hurt. Every one has now just gone.
nasty things those gas bottles might have had a blockage in the head of it
wasps or spiders
Lucky for us that wasn't so. Would have been a whole different outcome.
Was very scary as we thought it was going to explode and my friend and I were sitting next to it.
When the fireies arrived the police arrived as well and cordoned off the street.
The shock of it all is just starting to hit us.
Good to hear no one was hurt snicko. Would be very unsettling not knowing where it would all stop, once started.
All quiet out there in Nissan world today.
Hi godfather,
Has been a bit slow, everyone out wheeling I guess.
How was your weekend?
Mine has been quiet. I am about to go collect my bike from a mate.
Evening Todd,
How did your weekend treat you ?
Yeh not bad Gav..... Got a little bit of house painting done, bought some chooks and finished of the pen for them, Drank some beers then drank some more :) Unfortunately no playing in the 4b, but then again can't really afford 2 be braking it at the moment :(
Hows your weekend been?
