I doubt you'll ever find a bottle like that in Aust, I love history but compared to the UK we have nothing
and what we have is from the UK anyway, sad but true.
[QUOTE=oncedisturbed;613189]I have a few trappers and stockmans which are good knives, I carry an Excalibur 3 blade stockman on me all the time and surprising on how often it gets used and not just by me, even get store staff ask if anyone has a knife because they can't find their box cutters lol
Yeah I must sort out some knives to stay in the patrol.
Need to stock the new Armoury too lol.
booked in to see Docs on Tues, cant wait.

Pink trapper for the ladies
@ OD I did have a Boker knife,
Plus a plumb bob and some early sheetmetal clamps.
Great for knife making, you'll notice the shape of the
clamps is exactly the same as a black smiths leg vice
Nice gear, Apex have a sale on at the moment and have a good Elk Ridge field kit on sale

This would be my best display Bowie, I have the top one without the nameplate insert.
Following that its my other Gil Hibben old west bowie, then pick any of the Timber Rattler bowies.
OD or GKO any idea of best way to display the
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/S-A-O-Swo...item3f273f0a3d
There should be a small stand inside the box for those little "letter openers". I know there was one in the Final Fantasy series that came out years ago, there not very big and basically a desktop display set.
Shouldn't be too hard to make up a nice wood grain stand and have the blades in a fan shape

Getting 2 x saws laser cut I'l email you a pic when assembled lol
Edit just remembered I have a nice big piece off an oval 1850 Mahogany tilt table
I used the base of that for my 1850 games table, Might look ok Ill drag it out later, and
have a look, the table top that is LOL
I'll drag it out later and arrange it, to see how it looks
Sure, sure, we know what you "really" meant by dragging it out bwahahahaha

In a circular manner I might start with some smaller knives a wind out to the big ones?
In a snail shell style pattern.
This German made steel arrived Chrome vanadium very happy indeed
These guys came in yesterday, the Quicksilver tanto bowie isn't to bad and a fairly good size overall and was surprised to see that Frost Cutlery make the Quicksilver brand of knives, personally could be a bit heavier but the sheath is 1 of the worst crappy nylon sheathes I have seen as it's not long enough and is also the wrong as its for a straight blade knife and not a curved blade. I can see it tearing through over time.
The Frost Muela Bowie has a good weight and feel to it but could be a bit better in its design as the spine has a fake saw back for looks only, has the rear lashing / tie point on the spine but the handle scales are not designed to hold a pole properly for use as a spear and the base of the blade that is recessed and squared off could be shorter to allow for a slightly longer edge. The sheath is made of the ballistic nylon and not the standard version and allows for multiple ways of carrying like standard belt, strapped to the leg, horizontal waist carry, strapped to a pack or webbing strap either right way up or upside down and also over shoulder diagonal carry across the chest or back. It also has a small pouch on the front for a stone or small kit.
I must admit, modular ability of the sheath is well thought out and is a great platform for other modular sheath designs, this reminds me that I need to find a webpage I came across for a custom sheath maker in the U.S. who has incorporated the Kydex / modular / Molle system into the leather sheathes he makes that can have pouches, flint stick loops and other items swapped on and off as needed depending on what wearer was doing / going.
Also had a different Colombia knife delivered, another 1 of my $3.00 eBay wins. Quite like this 1 as it has a good weight to it, full tang and nice upswept blade and some nice etching on the bolsters, the blade could be just a smidge shorter and would be perfect.
Again it came with another crappy sheath.

Its a korean no name,,, looks like a solinger though, stamped with a horse head if that means anything
Sons ,girlfriends, dad has some antique solinger steels worth over $3k
even those old stag handle carving sets are pulling good money[sheffield]
Got an oval 600 grit one on the way too
Bit the bullet and brought a Timbar Rattler folder for $40,
not your ordinary folder this mother is 18'oa, wall hanger only
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ANTIQUE-MAYA...3D252011294163
beleive it or not
Oh and that last steel is 300mm long the other with the lighter handle is 350 long.
for my Chefs knife
Won another Seki City blank. Not sure how to do this one yet
Last one had sheep horn scales, I have more horn ,also have some streaky buff scales
as well. Dont think timber scales would suit the seki city blade
Nice work, not a big fan of Damascus steel but it can look cool
Never underestimate the power of the tap, let it flow through you.
This isnt your normal black/grey looking Damascus it has more of a stainless look to it.
and Seki City it right up there with San Mai and Cold Steel, they would be your top 3
historically, Im sure S,ops would have some wizz bang coatings and steel mixtures
check this guys mosaic pins

Ceramic "steel" arrived very happy with the feel of it.
Now no excuse for dull knives here. Actually they are all
razor sharp except the GLW's kitchen knives. Thats another story lol
Nice set, not a big fan of the Forsyth knives as they're a very cheap make and generally not the best finish. Gecko and I both have some and looking at modifying them later on and turn them into hopefully something more used.

Was just BA was after a budget set of skinning and boning knives,
can't go past that price regardless,I think.
@ OD knew I had a Boker knife somewhere,
tuff little skinner imo
My Timber Rattler folder has arrived 18" OA
Total wall hanger, cant see any practical use for it.
Fancy pulling this out of one of your side draw sheaths lol
That is 1 insanely big arsed knife lolol, need a damn claymore scabbard strapped across your back to carry it

Quickly called into Kmart last night with the missus and stumbled across a new multi-tool that has just been released by Jackeroo for $12.
Family basic but has a standard knife, saw blade, file, flat tip and Phillips screwdrivers and a combo axe / mallet head.
Curiosity got the better of me so I bought 2 of them, 1 for me and 1 for munchkin to put in his pack when he goes out scrub.
Surprisingly sturdy with a bit of weight for a small item, you won't be able to cut larger stuff but at a pinch when it hits the fan you could cut through 2-3" branches. Knife blade is reasonably sharp out of the pack but needs finishing but axe head is pretty blunt and needs finishing.

Great find OD, my San Mai drop point skinner has arrived.
Pretty sure Ive lost the other one GRRrrrr
I have some horn butterscotch for this one or
some streaky Buffalo not sure yet
The finished one is sheep horn,
This will be my go to knife
bloody grubs,, ordered a white Buck drop point skinner to replace the one I cant find ATM.
It was just a knife in a nylon sheath ,the grubs had to have a look go figure
Quite like the Vanguards, a simple but great to use little sharpie

Extac have been around for a few years now, have used them a few times and they're pretty good

Just typed in Southern leather Solutions for a look.
You do some awesome work my friend, noticed Kallen had an arm guard made as well
WOW social media , everyone knows hey, the Bull rifle scabbard looked the goods too.
Shame some PPL dont want to pay for quality leather work, let them see how much it will cost for the same
made elsewhere. Quality will last, crap doesn't. Im more than happy to save for a leather product opposed to a vynl
replicate. Keep up the good work.
Yo OD have you seen GKO's uncle henry 181 uh Bowie??
Cheers bud, have been doing very little lately as I just don't have the energy or ability at the moment so have been teaching munchkin basic bits and pieces when he's with us which he picks up pretty quickly which is great to see.
Umm, not sure if I've seen the uncle Henry Bowie or not, so many sharpies between us I lose count lol

Looks like this, Its longer than my UH Bowie. normally not very wide
lucky to be 6mm maybe
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221703116...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
another addition to my armoury lol
Very noice, nope don't think I have seen the UH bowie yet, must be hiding it from me muah
Never underestimate the power of the tap, let it flow through you.
It's been a bit quiet here lately so I thought I would show this 1 off.
This feller got delivered yesterday, it was bought as a "2nd" as it has a fine crack in 1 of the scales but not loose or splintered.

Very nice looks similar to a Browning, imo.
Just apply some aquahere to the split and clamp it
that should fix it.
Did the leather arrive for the bakky pouch?
Been quiet too I have another helmet for the Amoury arriving next week.
