I've been paying perticular attention to see what would happen if a severe fire came through and I am confident to say we would be safe in the valley but I can not guarantee that.
It is very green currently and there is predicted 100+mm of rain in the next week and a little more further on.
I have and will again mow everything very short especially around the fire place. I have also slashed a lot of grass further from the camp ground but didn't finish the job as I broke the slasher...LOL
I also have a fire fighting pump with 50m hose in case..
Unfortunatelly, there is only one way in/out to the top gate but from there, there are a number of roads out. Also being up high nearly right on top of Great Dividing range you get to see whats comming. I also have radio reception so we could get updates incase there is a fire.
If the Fire Danger is going to be severe or extreme I will call in to the Captains Falt station to let them know we are having a shindig and organise a UHF channel to monitor.
That should cover it...next...LOL
