Just got home from picking up the car and it is a big improvement on before but a long way off being right...
Winnie what did you end up doing with your pump and what did it cost... via pm if you like..lol.
Funny I have been driving the sedan for 2 months and now the gq feels like a kenworth.
What's wrong with the pump?
Bugger he sold it mate. I have a guy over near AB that does pumps and does good work. Plenty of comp guys using him. When you start talking UFI the price goes UP.
If you want to have a chat with my guy let me know mate. Would be the time to fit a 12mm plunger though while it's apart but any mods cost, savings are made in that the pump is in bits anyway.

What did jpc have to say? Did they just do timing and fuel mix?
As daz says prefect time to get the pump sorted now but I know its just more $$$$$ isn't it hmmmm.
12mm pumps are a big step up from a NA 10mm and may be over the top for BA's application. But on the appropriate setup 12mm pumps really come into their own. The costs might be up there but it will basically be new when you get it back none of this guessing with secondhand pumps.
I have done nothing with mine. My car has a stock GU pump on it. So instead of the 10mm plunger found on the GQ it has the 11mm plunger and a boost compensator.
It does need a rebuild though and when it is rebuilt I will ask diesel tech whether he will do it or who he recommends. I will stay with 11mm though.
12mm is over the top for you.
I couldnt help myself and just went for a drive.. still heaps to do so everything felt unfinished.
I got onto the freeway for the first time and stretched its legs a little, it blows no smoke that I can see now and pulls past 2000rpm.
What is the usable rev range on an NA?
I checked and changed air pressures in the tyres as it was all over the place and all these things add up to that crap feel when driving.
I have only driven Winnies car on the tracks so have no really idea how its supposed to feel on the road and Winnies is set up well with a turbo.
There is a bit of vibration and not sure if its normal or not and it has not had its valve clearances done while hot yet as it seemed a bit tappity .. more so than what I would expect.
Mark at JPC said that the pump was not feeding one of the cylinders properly and he also said compession was good across all cylinders.
He said injectors were fine... his advice was to either send mine away to get some love or find an 11mm pump from a late GU TD42.
Bloody good news about the compression slowly sort out the other stuff and should be bloody good. Havent driven a na one but would thing they wouldn't be that keen to rev out.
They make power to 4000rpm, dont be shy. Clean the cobwebs out
Edit.
Keep the pump you have now until you can afford a turbo, then spend money on it
