Gave the old girl a clean up today and have had some death wobbles so put the sexy 33’s back on and holly crap!
I just experienced the worse death wobbles I have ever felt.
I had to pull over on Melba Hwy and limp it back home, scared the shit outa me lol
New wheels and recently balanced so now the death wobble fault finding continues damn it!!!

Yeah my GQ presented with Death wobbles in Tassie at speeds between 35kmh and 55kmh which were extraordinary. Holding on for dear life stuff. I think @Winnie might have caught a glimpse in his rear view of my front end bucking about. 40kmh roadworks were a killer. Rolling into the ring of steel police cordon at 40kmh was pretty bloody average too i gotta say!!!
Yeah was bloody funny from where I was sitting! [emoji43]

Give the wheel bearings a nip up. I had the wobbles in mine a while back. I ended up replacing both stub axles and the wobbles were gone. I touched noting else so I can only assume it had something to do with the bearings.
Thank you Patrol gods!
It was the wheel bearings, drives like a dream now woohoo!!!
Well this is as good as she gets lol
New radiator in, full clean, looking mint!

What did the rad cost by mate. I have pulled.mine out for a bath and renew.
Yeah so $420 which I thought was ok.
I reckon a repair and rod would be $250 so thought stuff it, it’s brand spanking and no potential issues.
I just flogged it up to the hills in 4th to test it and didn’t go over 80 so I’m a happy little camper.

Noticed small rear main leak underneath today too which was nice to see but I was like…

Hey Andy, what temp thermostat are you running? Pulled mine out today and I have a 77. Thinking of chasing the 88 MB mentions
Ebay is your friend for this part haha
Nice one there
As some of you know I have been experiencing violent death wobbles ever since our trip back home from Licola and I have tried everything to fix it.
I recently put two brand new balanced tyres on the front and still had the wobbles.
I just put the exact old tyres back on but reversed them and just came back from a drive, no more wobbles???
I took it to all the spots I know gets the wobbles and nothing, a couple of little wobbles here and there but they stopped quickly and was only minor.
How can that be?
Same tyres but just on different sides, ok, original sides crazy wobbles, brand new tyres same wobbles.
All been balanced, etc.

I thought that too but the two new tyres were on two new rims as well.
I’m going to drive it like this for a month to see what happens.
It just doesn’t make sense and the last thing I want is for it to come back half way on the Simpson trip.

I recently had the dreaded wobbles. I even had the tyres balanced and rotated at two different shops. The only way I found the culprit was to raise the Ol Trol on wooden blocks under the chassis. I then put the hubs in and started the engine and put it in 2nd gear. I used a length of wood to measure how out of round each tyre was. I found one so bad I swapped it out with the spare. On the test drive the wobbles were finally gone, but seemed to be ready to start again.. Even now with new tyres and rims, it feels as if the wobbles might start up again, especially on a long right hand curve.
The old girl is getting a makeover over the next few months.
Just installed some new tables for the barn doors.
There’s a channel under the tables where I’ll make a slide out extending chopping board over Xmas time which will be a win.

Looks pretty cool. Can you take one of the latching mechanism at the top?
Looks great Andy.
Nice mate.
Did you make them yourself?
He makes them for GU too

You forgot to mention the beer bottle opener!
Have you driven around with this installed? Curious to know if it rattles.
Thats Cheap As for what you got there mate. the over centre clasps will stop it rattling too.
Made up a table using Phil’s donor car seat frame this weekend.
Needed to weld on a 40x40 shs at the back of frame to make it level.
This will be awesome for fridges and oven sits nicely underneath too.
Then the whole back of car can just be for camping and clothes storage.
Kid in the back can easily grab food and drinks when long touring trips, etc
10min job to unbolt and put original seat back in if I need a full crew in the Q.
