It's a short cut across the Ord River to get to Wyndham via the 'intetesting route'.
Current is apparently quite strong & not good on wheel bearings (Birgit's Kimberey Travel Guide).

Birgit's guide also says "Ivanhoe Crossing is a nice place to sit in the water, too, but beware of saltwater crocodiles. They are plentiful there, so don't attempt to actually swim. Just sit in the spas like the locals do.

Don't specifically recognise it, but it looks a bit like devonian reef. Could be in the Kimberley, but I'll guess somewhere near to Chillagoe?

It's in the lower part of the Kimberley, near the bitumen.

Not the usual pics you see of it, but Geikie Gorge has some rocks which look like that.??
