Sorry to hear Jack, rest in peace Kel. Bloody hard but definitely did the right thing.

Yeah mate, I went through about 2 months of applications, there are so many applicants at the moment it's like shooting fish in a barrel for the rescue groups.
I managed to get in touch directly with the regional manager for Vic of the Aus working dog rescue group, left a good impression and she pretty much out dibs on the next dog for me, very very lucky

Lucky to be alive he’s been warned with only a few scratches from trying to play top Boomer with our resident Buck during the week.
Girls tell me the unscathed Roo Mate strategically retreated to the dam center trying to coax him in for a good underwater baptism :-(

He is bit sorry at the moment but so lucky.
Happens too often Mark and our best mates find it hard to learn not to hassle them.
Red would do a runner and chase the hoppers about, but one day she found a male Roo sleeping under a tree, should have not disturbed the snoozer, as it woke and lashed out ripping her along inner rear thigh to the bone and luckily she did walk again. Her mother was coached into a dam by a wallaby, fought it out, neither would not give up and resulted in both drowning. Had my boots off one day to go into the dam to get dog, don't really know how, looked up and dog was swimming to bank_relief.
Submarine Puppy, very lucky for sure too John Mate!
Have been honestly pondering the balance today and believe Big Grey Boomer this year is doing a great job keeping dozens upon dozens of young upstarts from entering his turf and carrying on like Pork Choppies bitch slapping each other....respect the big Croc until proven otherwise ;-)

@MB No specific local mob of note here Mark, so many to count sometimes, mixed thru with red neck and swamp wallaby. Get the upstart roos sparing among themselves and when frustrated attempt to take it out on the local vegetation.
The girls visit looking for quiet place to shelter on windy days with young-ins in pouch. All keep our grasses in check, so much pressure and with past drought is hard for the natives to get growth on _ spring might turn it around after the recent rains.
Perpetually pregnant incredible beasts John Mate! If we build conditions....they will drop another down the shute :-)
