It is in SA and the sign was put up by Transport SA, probably to confuse the tourists.
I took this photo coming back from the Simpson July 2010, any guesses what creek or river?

Hmm, you may be right there Nisshead, I note that the croc sign appears to have been just placed there, (not bolted on).

How about the Murray somewhere?

It is the Cooper Creek, the water does come from Queensland but obviouly the sign was a joke.
