Yesterday I had both tie rods and steering damper changed and wheels rotated and a wheel alignment done.
Got all of the wheels balanced.
The thrumming noise above 80kph
has gone. It is amazing how you
get used to a noise as it
progressively gets worse.
While I was at the tyre joint,
I got to compare the treads
on a set of maxxi bighorn
mud terrains and BFG
mud terrains.
Apart from a few minor
differences, the overall
tread depths and patterns
seem to be of similar design.
And the headache begins... gonna swap over intake manifold, new glow plugs and injectors.
Ugh! First hiccup. Different stamped letter of the new to old injectors.
picked uip the patrol after the service and investigating the grinding sound from the front end, seems that when i had the last wheel alignment they screwed the bump stop bolts back in so when i put the 35's back on the lugs on the muddies were running on the suspension arm, screwed them back out and the noise is gone, bit of a shiny spot on the arms but no damage to the tyres :)
Cut my losses and bought this dash cam

I installed it all by myself, too. lol
