Not me mate. Is the wifey ladies that do a good job of that.
8 days till I'm out there how exciting. Major service done last week this week oil leak in the injectors fixed and some grease and a wash all to get her filthy and break something can't wait should be a great weekend
Fran is sawing a few logs with Stihls biggest as I type this........
Bump - 5 more sleeps for some, 6 for others, but very soon regardless!!!!
I hope you're all still as pumped as I am and look forward to catching up with everyone!!!
Hey Scotty, I left my gas bottle at your place the other night of the barbecue.
Any chance you could take in to Scenic Rim with you and I will collect it there?
pumped???? pumped????? tell ya how pumped i am fitted new number plate to camper and hooking it up thursday to save me time on friday getting away after work thats how pumped i am!!!! LOL
Hey guys, I was thinking the other day we could organize little "work shops" on things on these weekends. Things like recovery, maintenance, chainsaw use.....ect. Get people with experience in these areas to do a quick informal on them. As some of you know I am an Arbourist( tree looper) so I can bring a few saws and show basic maintenance, sharpening and cutting. Others who are mechanics or mechanically minded can do servicing and preventative maintenance..... More " real world stuff " not text book learning.
Just a thought.
I'll do the massage clinics for the wives! Including facials if they supply cleansers, toners and moisturisers.
Tim
Well I bring a few saws along and a few... Lot of chains that every one can sharpen for me...... I meen learn on. I book a sat morning time slot.... 10am ish till when ever. Man sat night will be the biggest Bon fire ever..... Lots of " cut wood" lol can even do a basic revision on useful knots. Just the basic ones you can use every day.
If someone wants to do a mechanical one I guess i can hold off replacing the gearbox this week, I could bring the other auto gear box and use it for a demo. How to remove and re fit an auto in a GQ...... Lmao. It's worth a try! Scotty you can do one on a fuel tank or radiator. Lol
Fab idea, i dont own a chainsaw, but would be interested to see how to get the most out of using one.
I think Safe (and un safe) Recovery methods should be something talked about at some stage.
I guess, if anyone has a interest in photography , or just has a Digital SLR Camera ,and wants to bring it along, we could go off for a hour or so and share some tips ?
Another top idea - see, it's not all about getting down and dirty in the rigs!!!
So we have a chainsaw, mechanical and photo session to lock in ... We might do a bit of a "toolbox meeting" on Saturday morning/lunch and coordinate who wants to do what and at what times!
Any time on Saturday is good for me, I'm only there for the day.

Tony, I recon if you put together a small lesson on how to do a basic vehicle saftey inspection before a big road trip (with a patrol in mind) ,such as , how to identify and avoid problems with things like fan belts ,brakes, wheel bearing play etc ?
NIce work guys this will help out all those who are new and refresh memories of those who are not. Safety first.
I can pack the hand winch and associated toys for people who want to go that way.
I was thinking a flat ground wheel placement challenge might be fun - run over the witches hat kind of thing - don't have any witches hats but perhaps water filled balloons provided we pick the rubbish up - cane toads seem to be in short supply at the moment. Maybe short bits of 50mm + dia branches so people can feel when they hit them. Curvy course with left front, right front kind of thing.
oh, yeah, barring unforseen dramas we'll be there - does anyone know when the gate closes on Fri night? otherwise Sat morning
Did you get Ryan's car sorted Scott?
Tony
