It’s cold wet & miserable outside so I thought I’d pick out a couple of pics for this thread & remind myself of warmer times. Trouble was I couldn’t stop at two. Apologies if any are ones I’ve posted before. In the end I couldn’t make decisions, so here is a random selection from my favourites
Loy Yang powerstation taken from our back door in Gippsland. We had many a time when we were above the cloud level, but this was unusual because it was in the evening at sunset.

A Kimberley Bluetongue - lighter in colour than those found elsewhere. I found this one under my tent. Photo taken after I had persuaded it to leave so I didn’t lay on him/her. When I showed the pic to our hosts they said “Nice n fat, shoulda eaten’im”.

Could be wrong Cuppa, but I thought Corella's were all white and that was a galah?
Great pics though. Must have been a fast shutter speed with that Corella/Galah?
I love this photo. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...015/07/252.jpg

wow i love all the photos. looking forward to seeing more
Not time lapse Mego, but it is a long exposure. I think it was 13 or 15 seconds from memory.
Go to manual mode, up the ISO (mine was at 6400 I think), open your aperture right up as wide as it will go, focus your lens at Infinity manually (so it doesn't hunt for focus), then set your shutter speed to say 15 seconds, and have a delay on the shot so you can run out there with your rum and stand there nice and still.
The torch light came up so nicely because of the smoke from the fire, which is also causing the fore-ground lighting. If I was to do it over, I'd get my mate to use a less bright torch and keep it away from the ground a bit more.
A tri-pod obviously helps too.
You will be amazed at the star light that the camera will pick up that your eyes can't.
Just have to put some up of my Bali trip last week

Two photos of the same vehicle as you can see at Madura Pass. About thirteen years difference between the two. The one on the left is in September 2001 and the other is in October 2014.
Our house in Moora WA in 1956 and 2013. Not too much difference.

These two horses were the first out of five to come to me. Shared a pear and an apple with them all. The horse on the left was shaking its head at the time of taking of the photo. The paddock is on the corner of Horrocks Pass and the road that leads to Hancocks Look Out, South Oz.
