Just had a chat to a local. Turns out he's the local archery club secretary...
But keen hunter.
So he's gunna have a look at my freebie and see if I need a string, and have a chat at what I should get accessories wise.
I like the 3 point peeps, so that's a given I think, now it's just sort the nock point, rest and sight.
And arrows. Gunna needs lots of arrows... Lol
And 3/16 or 1/4 peep??
The string may just need a good waxing
It's mainly to get your technique consistent so unless you plan to get bow crazy and shoot all the time I'd go the larger as the smaller ones can tend to make it harder to see in low light conditions its a 10 min job to serve it in if you want to change anyway.Quote:

Cammo, good for hunting people
Plenty shoot without cammo, you need to use the wind. You can be 100% invisible but once an animal smells you it'll be gone
Edit: I do like that cammo though
Colour pattern and flat or 3d cammo it doesn't matter as animals are colour blind. Growler is right keep the wind in your face keeps scent and noise muffled.
Other things to keep in mind if wanting to get serious stalking boots must be quiet or easily removed to go barefoot to get close.
Washing your hunting gear use this http://www.anaconda.com.au/Product/B...Wash-Detergent as detergents leave scents that are un natural plus have phosphorous that when in the sun to animals makes you have a neon sign saying I'm here as it reflects light strangely that their sight pics up that we can't.
Know the land you hunt on and keep you clothes in a bag with leaves and branches from your hunting area so you smell natural to that area.
Don't shower or use soaps or deodorants or eat spicy foods like curries etc these seep from your skin when you sweat etc.

Fibreglass arrows are the most forgiving and fit any archers budget, I've got both alloy and fibreglass but they are both different weights and put the sights out a little because of this so I mainly use fibreglass as its a pain to adjust.
Make sure you're not under spine or you'll have shattered arrow through your hand
Gunna try wind my back to 55# for a start, these arrows are good for 80 pound
And might have just picked up a Qad ultrarest hunter for f-all..

What causes a string to go like this??
If that strings on the bow its fubar. If not may need new serving or more serving string tied on
Ditch that string, looks like its in bad shape that's for sure. If the string let's go mid draw don't expect to use the bow again.

But how good are the fibre optic sights! You can buy little led attachments to light it up also but prob over kill lol ... Now for a rest

Na we don't have a shop. Well we have a gun shop but have been told stay away with a bow.
So I'll ask on the bow forum..
Ah that's a shame my local will let you try any bow and have many set up for testing.
