Thanks for the link mate , JESUS CHRIST WHAT JOB ! I'm not sure I could pull it out, rebuild it and reinstall it in a week which is what I would want so maybe the exchange option might be better. I'll talk to automatic transmission wholesalers tomorrow & get more of an idea, I rang them Saturday morning but they weren't open bugger it all.
hello, very interresting all his.
I'm called Nicolas I'm French and I have a patrol 3 l td 2004, I have a small problem with the automatic gearbox and here in France has been very hard to repair an automatic gearbox.
I would like you to help me find the origin of my problems.
here are the problems:
I chatter when the 4th passes (the car shakes) and vibrations / squeaks in 4 th in the period of floating between load and engine brake ..
here are my problems, I hope you can help me.
thank you so much .
Hey I'm about you rebuild my transmission as well. My issue is it keep hearing that the 1990 td42 has a RE4R03A but then I also hear it has a RE4R01A. I'm wondering if you can help me out or if anyone could help me out. I've been searching and searching for hours bit can't seem to find a straight answer. Thanks!
Climb underneath and look at your bellhousing. I sent you pics in our other conversation that clearly show the ribbed bellhousing that the RE4R03A has. If you have the smooth bellhousing it's a RE4R01A.
Edit: Completely forgot that the transmission type is stamped on the VIN plate
