I am glad to see that you got it sorted.
It could've been a tank of dud juice. Earlier this year, my cousin's Patrol was towed from Shark bay to Carnarvon, because they copped a bad batch of Diesel from the Exmouth area. They had to drain the tanks and replace the pump.
This is one of the reasons I am in RACV Total Care. They pay for all the towing, accommodation and a hire car. Plus they assist with finding a repairer and sourcing parts. I had to use them once (on a Toyota I owned) and it was a real blessing. A lot less stress.
