The nissan engineers designed the front suspension to a specific ride height and amount of travel. There was no regard for the consumer to install suspension lifts, get more articulation, different offset rims etc. It was designed with small tolerances, which really isnt good, but for standard form it functions as it should and quite well.
Suspension is about comprimise. A change in geometry (ie lift kit) can effect other characteristics. In a setup like the patrol with its low margin of error design Something like a basic 2 inch lift can upset things. This is why there are what seems to be many causes for the death wobbles.
