Western Star Hotel, Windorah?
Good on you mate well done
I know it takes a while to recognize a pub that dosen`t sell proper beer
thow up a photo
That's the only pub in Windorah yeah? Opposite the servo that the blind guy runs?
I don't recall any steam engine thingy.
Maybe I was distracted by the two young female backpackers behind the bar!
Cuppa
G`day Cuppa
I heard recently that the blind gent is not there any longer .
He was most helpful when we past through as we need to do some welding, he found and supplied everything we needed and left us to do the welding only charged for a few rods and a bit of power, a true gent. Windorah is a very tidy and neat town but if you just blow through you can miss some sights
This one should be easy, where is this?
I will need to scan some old printed photos from older trips to use on here.
Bore at Birdsville.
Yep, new it would be a quick one.
Will get busy soon scanning old photos from my trips prior to 2002 when I got a digital camera as anything I put up now gets guessed straight away.
At least I have several trips planned over the next two years to take new photos.
Over to you Cuppa, you would have a never ending supply with the traveling you have done.
Sticking with an outback pub theme....... what pub is this?

Extra brownie points if you have a story about having had a drink there.
Cuppa
I know but not going to say as I don't have a photo to put up.
Will say outback Queensland?
Betoota?
Never been inside, only guessing by the gal iron roof.
Yep Betoota it is. A mate of mine had a few beers there when it was still open. He reckoned that the publican sized up his customers & charged according to whether he liked them or not. If he liked you, you got charged the normal rate, if he didn't each successive beer cost 50 cents more than the last one. He was the publican there for many years, & then sold out to another at a very good price. The new owner failed to make a go of it in this very isolated spot, & two years later sold it back to Simon, the original publican, for a song.

No, Cuppa,
It's down south.
You may need to give a clue, is it in Vic?
It`s in the Barossa Valley
And the town is Tanunda
You have to cross water to get to this one
That's not the one in Sydney harbour is it?
No Lucas and it`s not in Tas
Battery Hill, Port Fairy?
Not on Morton island ?
No and No head north
Termite mound on the RH side, and a tree that loses its leaves. Grass is green and looks like it gets regular water, ie coastal rain.
Yes P4trol it certainly gets coastal rain and possibly a bit of sea spray
Fort Lytton
But ya can only see it from this position not the river
Not the one that went off in Yeppoon is it?
Sorry guys all wrong
Hint it`s on an island
TCP
Yeppoon is a great little coastal town .When we visited there a couple of years ago there was a museum dedicated to the great Peter Brock.
Sadly it`s not there any more. We spent close to 3 hours there as it was such a comprehensive collection of Peters memorabilia. A couple of his cars were not there as they were competing at a race meeting somewhere. Even worst was that my camera had packed it in a day or so earlier.
No mate head north
that one in Yepoon put a dirty big hole in a Torana, last of the big bangs
whats an island out from Brisbane or an island in a bay that's worth protecting something
Is it Fitzroy Island?
Dunk Island?
