Thankful that my sister didn't have a crash, but pulled over to sleep, and that's why she's taken 8 hours to drive to the coast. I'm not with her, but got a phone call saying she hadn't arrived at the camp she was going to (I was supposed to be with her but had to work tomorrow) took me half an hour to get in contact as her phone is dodgy
Was stressing out for a bit. But am happy she's fine.
My mate got his Hilux stuck up on the high moor, I pulled it out easily, then took the piss for ten minutes and will do every time I see him.
Turning to page 214 in the lastest 4wd action mag and going " Hey, I know that bloke"
( Nice one, Ben)
No, got stuck on one of the mounds going in, Ben gave me a hand push back which was enough 2 free me and I took another line and made it over.
Yeh after the rain I had no hope in getting back out unassisted, Lucky for me Kat had my trailer on which would of made it a hell of a lot easier 2 get out but think the old crappadore still went ok through some of those muddy spots *L*
Shame there was no video footage of my drive out!
I still haven't washed the mud off the car from that weekend! *L*
The new battery/solar setup on the car is working a treat. I have the ctek setup and it is successfully maintaining the charge on two internal and the main battery.
Very happy. No more having to top up the batteries (and hurting the back) just before a trip.
I have a redarc vsr between the main battery and an internal 105a/h deep cycle. Feeding off that I have the ctek and 55ah optima. All three batteries are automatically isolated when needed, but usually maintain enough charge to keep the redarc solenoid closed allowing for a charge path to the main battery.
This means when the optima is fully charged from the solar panel, the ctek redirects the power to charge the main and 105a/h.
The 105a/h is used for the camper when needed, but can be manually switched in to run the fridge and electronics in the back of the car on demand or removed if I need the space for the kiddies.
The optima will normally feed the fridge and electronics, as the low internal resistance makes for a nice quick recharge. I always struggled to keep the old SLA charged with the original setup, I'm hopeful that won't be a problem anymore.
The only change I'm considering is adding an mppt charger to the 105a/h to allow charging off solar independent of the car.
:)
Just arrived at the big top of Cirque du Soleil.
Third time we've been and the third different show.
Just had another awesome weekend away with the camper trailer with the missus and dog... Stayed at otooles flat with a couple of mates.
We had a sensational lamb spit roast on Saturday night.
Featuring new D cell batteries! Umm when I put the new ones in I could tell the old ones were on the way out... Hahaha
