Only had the 1 option which was light wood with finger grooves and I forgot which studs were used
Cool Its just that Ive noticed about three maybe four different styles, I had one but I sold it, Doh
seem to be well priced, as long as the blade is over 12" to go with my other Bowies It should fit right in.lol.
Plus some are mahogany and others are walnut decisions decisions ha ha
Got mine for $35-40 at local bcf
gee thats very cheap best I can find is $41, the one I sold i brought for $25 go figure
that dodgey seller came through with the goods. my Uncle Henry Golden Spike arrived
Very sharp ,nice leather sheath with a field stone on it, Staglon handle feels right.
Not complaining I brought this one as it has Uncle Henry written on the blade, others
are stamped
Edit the sheath is faux leather dabnamit,GGRRRrrrr, not to worry I know a guy who can make me a sheath that will last a life time lol
Its not that much different to the Old Timer I have just a thinner blade, stone pocket is optional , if its possible go for it
if not dont worry, bummer once again a good knife let down with a crap sheath
The expendables logo is only on 1 side of the handle instead of both sides
thanks,
Actually I prefer without the Expendables logo more old wild west feel about it
Seems some are made with a leather sheath and others not,
also some use a schrade press stud as well
seller replied saying thanks for letting us know the sheath is not leather WTH
In his defense it was in a blister pack, still peeved
Seller sounds shifty. Got your email, will reply with some info for you.
No dramas on knocking some leather sheathes for, will have to knock up a jig for the sharpening stone. Still need to send me those skinners to restitch.
Doing up some smartphone / tablet demo cases at the moment, I will have to let the store know that they will need to be individually ordered at the moment as they can vary so much.
Thanks getting crazy with xmas looming, dont forget if you have a popular template you need laser cut.
Yeah smells like leather, but just looked all wrong, tempted to buy another with a leather sheath
@ OD is this ok to stamp some leather gear I have here, do I just hit firmly once with a mallet
EDIT I googled and found you need to wet the leather first,

Pyro burning letters on would look cool too IMO
just been looking at 1650T Old timer Woodsman knives, seems there are three different styles of blade.
All are upswept skinner style but top of blade is different, same with the 153 UH golden Spike
have a good repore with the guy from "Snap Lizzard".
Another good seller would be an axe cover for the full size Fiskar x25, x27 size
My ACU radio pouch arrived gotta love Lancy eh, it will go with my ACU day pack and pouches nicely.
Radio is a 5watt GME TX6200
Same size and stamp I used on your cross draw sheath.
Very hard to stamp leather and retain it once the leather has been processed, coloured and finished.
Pyrography can be done but you do run the risk of over 'cooking' your leather once it's finished.
oh thanks for that, you'll be the proud owner of a Schrade Uncle Henry knife soon,
I ordered another with Schrade snaps and antique leather sheath,
Umm new knife?
where ever would you put it.
Bwahaha don't tell wifey lol...cheers for that
At last, my lastest knife has shown up from China....its a columbia...beautiful wee knife. 8 inch. will post a photo tomorrow...
You back Gecko? Catch up for a brew?
we'll get some work for you here.
how many would like a hand stitched leather cover for your Fiskar X25,X27 log splitter?
example shown is for my X7 hatchett
yeah Welcome back GKO.
@ OD heres another design for you
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Estwing-C...2f5ff1f&_uhb=1
Not that keen on that design style but can't put my finger on it as to why.
Been waiting for yonks on some leather gear like rivets, Chicago screws etc, taking ages. Even gear from NSW like buckles is taking ages.
Xmas just around the corner I really think the parcel business is booming, I wont be buying off ebay untill the new year, yeah right
noticed lately most post etc is slow
Been talking to the owner of Snap Lizard knives on Ebay, Have worded him up about your products etc.
Im buying the Schrade Bowie but it has a nylon sheath, He is just like you and me saying a good knife let down by a crappy sheath.Thinking after you make a sheath to suit the bowie things will improve in your favour.
Plus haven't even spoken to any of my hunting mates yet, BOOM BABY
Yep. Back guys. Will catch up for a brew soon OD. Some nice stuff there 3D...
Columbia make some great knives Think I have at least 6 of them
Yep, again, pleasantly surprised by the knife... Very keen edge on it. Best of all, ridiculous price!
heres one you will love , from M-tech a small stone washed field axe. only reason I brought it was because
I thought it would match my stone washed tanto, close but no cigar, think bumble bee lol
this would be awesome as a duo IMO. Very happy indeed.
Plus my ACU 30 litre back pack arrived, play time lol
I like this axe as the head is small,
I'll put a pic next to my Elk Ridge , if I had to chose it would be stone washed tanto and stone washed
axe every day of the year, nice heavy feel to them for their size
EDIT you carry it on your belt head down
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Elk-Ridge...item51c6e33837
Heres a link to a Schrade golden spike look a like for a 1/4 of the price
pics are schrade uncle Henry Old Timer golden spike below
That elk ridge was 1 of the 1st knives I bought online. Right peed off to find it was a plastic handle and not bone as per the listing.
Gecko's new Colombia is very nice and the 1st I have seen with 2 different makers marks on it. Other side has carva knives etched on the blade
My Columbia knives have SANJIA on them
Bidding on a 21" Colt Alamo Bowie with a Stag handle
has brass on spine, bloody big knife, post is heaps
Looks like it has the trakker shape to the blade
like this,, both are Columbia or Sanjia knives

Heres a nice USA Schrade stamped blank
Latest rifle scabbard in the making
You can tell the overall size of the scabbard by the steers head, hands will be knackered from punching out the stitch holes lol.
Liking that bull character should come up a treat.
As you know my other Golden spike arrived ,
I'll put a pic showing the difference in the sheaths , tomorrow
Chalk and cheers, I'm hoping the other bowie will arrive tomorrow.
Nearly have my ACU pack sorted with the stone washed tanto and axe.
As for general camp Ill take the Schrade golden spike and the Schrade bowie
Cheers TD.
Steers head finished, stitch holes punched out and border stamping has started.
Hoping this scabbard will rock once finished. Still need to buy the wool lining yet but that will be done once it is dyed and ready for stitching.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141370518...84.m1423.l2649
Heres a hoot of a trapper I think you and GKO will like
easy to see the faux leather sheath.
loving that colour and grain Taylors use
That rifle scabbard reminds me of the old leg of mutton rifle scabbard
The left 1 looks the best.
1st dye coat done.
Attachment 51946
Attachment 51947
Attachment 51948
correct as I would expect ,,left one is leather.
Thats starting to look awesome my friend.
Can't wait to see it finished, customer should be stoked
Have to pick up the woollen lining this week for it.
Looking highlighting the bull in a slightly darker brown to make it pop. Will to a colour test on some scrap leather 1st
