Haha I'm not that behind the times ya cheeky bugger!! Yeah used to pop my ball out at work and give it a good clean about 20 years ago. Nobody said anything, we all did it!!
A general computer/phone question although ‘is’ Forum related :-)
Is anyone else using ‘Tapatalk’ on an iPhony or Androidy finding that after a week of absence our “What’s New” area only dates back some 23 odd threads?
Have missed this positive place reading and sick of being brainwashed by FM radio/papers daily etc...

I've tried Tapa, but don't really like it, so on my phone I still use the 'full site' option. A bit cumbersome at times, but I know my way around it. My phone is not a big one (iPhone XS) & I manage. Hardest is editing posts, so if I do one of my 'long' posts, I still grab the laptop.
Are there any friends here who use Windows 10? Will your Windows 10 ask you to change your login password (probably every 2-3 months)? I messed up twice. The new password was confused with the old password, and the computer refused to leave the login screen.
Greetings, oh Wise Ones. I installed software for my Sigma lens yesterday, and the forum has frozen twice today.
For a very long time, the computer also has a nasty habit of making the screen go black for a few seconds, especially if I open a new page. If I move the cursor it comes back, but sometimes goes black within seconds, until I move the cursor again.
Can anybody recommend a good phone that doesn't cost an arm and leg? I need a good rear camera (front selfie camera specs not important), a sub-6" screen, replaceable battery, unlocked and good android functionality. Until recently I had an LG but I wore it out literally over about 4 years constant use. Great phone. I then bought a Nokia piece of crap I ditched after 2 weeks, and now an LG Q7 piece of absolute operating system crappola. Getting very frustrated. Surely there's something decent out there that doesn't cost a fortune?
Buy a second hand Samsung mate. S9 or S10, you can't go wrong

Something like this would suit you well, if the lens isn't cracked it's a bargain.

@Plasnart Wife just got a Samsung Galaxy A11, I'm very impressed with it and way better than my more expensive phone.
$229 at Australia Post, you can also get a cheap shockproof case for $10 on eBay (and they actually work).
Guys, I have a PC running the last version on WIN10. It also has a 2007 version of Word / Office on it. I'm considering up-dating to Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019 version, which contains the current version of Word. Problem? I'm told that the current version of Word cannot read docs from Word 7. Is this true, and if so, is there a "work around"?
Here you go, shouldn’t be any issues.

Just found this brand new Appy thing U.B.E.R.E.A.T.S that’s apparently delivering me Authentic Lebanese Tucker straight to my door for a first time [emoji376]
I had to drive an extra 150km further away from my Melbourne outerskirts hills home door location for it to start working but the moving pictures received look promising [emoji1696][emoji1696]

lmao... Never short of a full laugh you are Mr. MB!! :smileyvault-cute-bi
I see the new found puter experience level up was also topped of with some Turkish delights.
Post storm carnage repair work in Yering/Coldstream prompted a hungry call for UBEREATS direct Pizzas from the Glen.
Hungry we remained as the tucker never arrived.
Rumour is the poor bloke is still seeking our co-ordinates out in the cold (still dark) hills somewhere...
Sorry to hear that Hodgey Mate, wish had of known to advise you Lineworker Legends otherwise [emoji120][emoji123]
It’s cheaper I reckon to drive an 8.3L Cummins way down the line to Lilydale specifically for Pizza than us getting ripped locally [emoji23]

5.25” floppy disc = Simple [emoji736]
Start off with a 9” thin cutting disc, wear it down to exactly to 5.25” diameter then use it as a heavy handed grinding disc by way of floppy flexing it until it explodes [emoji107][emoji107]

Question: Can an apple iphone be plugged into a PC to transfer photos?
Reason: I've been a satisfied android user until the last few years when I stupidly thought I could get adequate service from a cheap (low $200s) phone. Nope, so bought another. Nope again so bought another. Now I've got 3 sh1t phones when I could have bought a decent one! I used to have a work-issued iphone and it gave me no problems so now thinking of crossing back to the dark side. Iphone SE is $679 with specs that will do me fine, I think.
Hence my question. Can I transfer pics from the iphone to a PC easily? Just plug and play or is it a bit more of a hassle?
What? People still use PC’s?
Well, I’ll be[emoji23]

FULL Tech Answer: Yes Plassy Mate, iTuneys required though on top of your desk which in its self can cause issues.
SMALL Outback Tip: Sucks when off grid and trying to access your devices already downloaded track maps and icrapple decides it’s time to connect to iTuneys for an update before seeing what you already own, guessing the same for music/photos too?
TIP: Always carry backup Paper Maps [emoji23][emoji106][emoji106]

Surely nowdays there is a protocol to just plug the phone in and access a photo folder directly from the explorer ??
Or is crapple still shoving their iTunes down people's throats ??
Sorry Plasy . No direct answer here. Have been Apple free for decades so dont know how far backwards they've catapulted.

Itunes no longer exists on Macs.
Transferring photos to a PC from an iphone should be as easy as running a usb cable to the PC from the iphone & having the PC treat the iphone as USB stick.
Attachment 84682
Thanks @Cuppa great advice mate. That's exactly what I was hoping for.
There is also a free windows programme 'EaseUS MobiMover' which allows two-way transfer of various files between PC and iphone as well as backup management - all without itunes.
Just use iCloud for Windows and your photos will be on the PC anyway.
