Flathead would have to be one of the most under rated fish ever,
I'd put it up there with Barra and RED emperor. The best from Port Phillip
from my Diving days would be red mullet or Goat fish taste just like Cray mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Flatties are never underestimated in our house. One of the best eating fish IMO.

I went fishing on the weekend and got license checked by the fisheries. One bloke there had no license and was a real smartass too, he copped a $140 fine and lost his dignity lmao

Last time they came was Black Saturday just before the wind started so that would have
been 9.30ish never ever forget that day.
Well I was at Port Welshpool (popular place) and it was a public holiday so makes sense for them to be there. My mate didn't have a license but he didn't give any lip, so he was told to walk over the road and buy one.

1/2 way to Tassie, Best spot was DEAL Is, Harpuka/Boar fish, razor fish, Spur dog shark,
saw shark, gummy and school , trevally, you name it even Lemon shark 7 gill
still have jaws around here somewhere.
