Yeah we were discussing that at our place as well, in our area all the kids had an adult with them which was reassuring.
I used to think it was a stupid custom but really no different to other more 'traditional' festivities, and I've changed my views in the last few years.
It was actually nice to see all the kids dressed up and enjoying themselves.

When very young, my lot were scared of santa...

Customers that order one light tube with there order, all the extra time and effort 2 bubble wrap and box just for 1 light!

And customers that put multiply small orders in, for fark sake just put one order in with everything u want on it!

So its ok to let kids except lollies of strangers one day of the year or can they do it everyday? I was brought up never 2 except lollies of strangers and that's what I teach my kids, no exemption for another countries beliefs.

And yes I probably am a grumpy old bugger :)
