Long weekend sounds awesome! What's the occasion?
Tomorrow is a memorial day for a passed commonwealth queen, the day after (Victoria Friday) for a football game off the day before play (Saturday) and Sunday is Sunday, Monday is a rostered day off for construction members.

On our recent trip to Fraser Island I successfully drove Ngkala rocks in my GU III with factory ride height and 33's aired down to 18 psi.
Conditions were wet, which made it easier, but it was great to tackle and successfully make it through without getting stuck! [emoji106]

I don't care if it's a yota, this makes me happy. Detroit goodness!

Oh yes the sweet sound of a 2 stroke Detroit, I’ve got a video of a W model Kenworth with an 8V92 idling in front of my house but I cant post videos- it’d make a grown man sticky in the underpants.
You wouldn’t even need your ear trumpet Plassy 🤣
Well 9/10ths fucked on getting the engine back in after pulling it out -again- to replace clutch fork (after replacing clutch ~2 months ago)
... to find out the issue was most likely the vacuum booster and an accupmaltion of wear through the system.
But at any rate, know it should be good for the next 30 years or so.
Tomorrows mission is basically fill the rad and bleed the clutch and drive on.
Then to remove engine from truck 3 to replace water pump, clutch (plates AND fork), swivel hubs rebuild, underbody bushes... yada yada. then #3 engine into #2 for a tiki-tour around the country for the next month.
Then Slap a turbo on #2 engine, into #1 ute
... swap #3 doors onto #2 but with the glass (tinted) and windywinders (manual) from #2...
Then sell them all and buy a late model landcruiser >_>
first week back onsite at work, 3rd week back at work after our Canning Stock Route trip.
Solo north - south traversal, no probs with anything. Took us 20 days. 100kms in a day was a big day. One day we only drove for 40 minutes, other days up to 7 hours, so it was all over the place.
Best trip we've ever done, want to do it again some time.
Tried to get into Rudall River NP from the south entrance. Nup. Corrugations so bad I could just see the GU copping some form of damage, these were just terrible corrugations, worse than anything i've ever seen.
Will be going back there one day, it was looking so pretty.
Trip report and pics mate! :)
After about 4 years of neglect, I changed the bonnet, and the left-hand pass door that the wife 'damaged'.

Don't be deceived by the 'false advertising' on the door. lol. It's still a 4.2 TDi. lol

For sure Plassy mate! :D
I know it is for VHF or UHF comms, but even so, it seems too big, military type of gear.

Out this way the verges are big, and they're perfect for seeing the sides of the road. Pedestrians on the footpaths even shield their eyes when I'm on high beam. lol.
Good quality merchandise, I reckon.

4x maxxis razr 33x10.5 :animierte-smilies-t
@BrazilianY60
It's a HF radio set up for long range communications. I belong to a radio network called VKS737, and the aerial has HF radio telephone capabilities. I pay a yearly subscription to join the radio network and have chosen to pay a yearly subscription to have the HF radio telephone connected full time. I get 10 minutes of phone calls per month, included in the price.
I run that on 3 sizes of rim.
33x10.5 on 15 inch.
285/75r16.
285/70r17.
The 15 inch was a one time and only opportunity. For whatever reason they imported that size by mistake, sold the units they had and never imported them again. If you call their (BFG) customer service here they´ll say that size was never on the local portfolio.
Father Inlaw just gave me a swag he had and only used once which is great as I desperately need a new one.
I understand it’s prob not an expensive one but there is zero branding on it, would anyone have an idea on what brand this could be?

‘FILFIiAL’ for sure @AB, they were extremely well built for the dollars but lacked all the flash colour branding crud of modern others…..Dutch and or Danish European I believe?

Looks similar to the unit by Cabelas in the US, originally selling for circa $129USD, then their popularity went through the roof and you could not buy one for less than $399USD. Compact design, but based on the old banana lounge stretcher concept, biggish flat folded footprint, , flat lid wont shed water that well if its not tight and definitely a problem in the snow. I have a bivvy from cabelas made from the same materials as this style of enclosure and its definitely waterproof. The design allows you to open the thing right up for hot nights as well. Good score I reckon.
Getting a new tractor as my old Fergie TEA 20 has blown out a piece of block side casing due to coolant freeze/expansion past winter. Time to retire it to shed for rebuild latter yrs.
