I did the champix thing. After 2 weeks without a smoke, my 3rd week on the pills I was forgetting to take the night ones then I forgot a few day ones so I just stopped taking the pill now I have no nausea of spaced out dreams....really spaced out and no craving for a smoke :)
hahahaha you guys can have the weird dreams I tend to think about them too much and get no sleep which is no good for some who works big hours
Tried the chamix - last 4 weeks - thought I was cured however I'm back.
The problem is I like to dirty filthy habit
Just thinking about it now typing ... sorry off for a smoke
Well, it has now been two weeks with out a cigarette . It wasn't a new years resolution but it happened around that time, I have been thinking about it for a while and finally took the plunge.
I love a cigarette but looks like I don't need them after all ...LOLOLO
Let me tell ya, cold turkey is the best way to go but you need to be tough .....Far our I want one now.....hahhahahha not really
Fkn good onya best move ya can make, now youll have plenty of coin for cans at Loveday hahhahahahahaha
They say its done in threes, 3 days, 3 weeks, months years etc. Not sure about that but keep up the good work, gave up myself in 04 havn't looked back. Unfortunately for me now saying goodbye to beer, been 10 days (getting to fat) not sure how much longer I can last.
I have been giving the old scotch bottle a bit of a touch up so I should survive
My missus use to smoke all day, 2 packs a day usually, I was getting sick of it (I'm not a smoker never was) anyways, I had long hair 2 years ago nearly down to my arse, missus hated my hair that long lol so I said if you stop smoking ill cut all my hair into size 4, she stopped few days after and I didn't do it straight it just in case. After 2-3 weeks later, I said to missus, still want me to cut my hair, she said naa its ok Im glad I gave up. that was back in december 2009, cutted my hair 18 months later LOL last year august just after my daughter was born. She realise that she saved $120 a week easily now or more.
She gets tummy aches when she goes near them now
I heard cold turkey are good or toothpicks hanging out of your mouth quits smoking but who knows lol
good for you mate keep it up sunshine unfortunetly you still have cravings its been 3yrs for me now
and every now and then id like one but that only lasts a few seconds now
mate of mine hasnt smoked for 20yrs but still has the feeling every now and then
keep up the good work
I sorta had a new years resolution to cut back/give up. It started off fine for the first few days off work where I cut back by half say 18 odd durrys a day to about 7-8, now back at work and the stress that follows with the planning of major changes ahead it's the only thing that lets me take 5 and relax. Probably doesn't help all my flat mates smoke but lets not make excuses! lmao
Smokes took a 15% hike in price this year in NZ so that's why I wanted to cut back because affording them is becoming harder, however I find I just still enjoy smoking too much. A smoke and a coffee is something I look forward to in the mornings and that's what gets me out of bed lol
It's a mental battle and I admire the folks who have given it up, keep it up.
3 guys from work gave up 8 to 12 months ago, and havent touched one since, they all used tablets (champex) prescription from doc's and has worked a treat.
I know i keep saying it but not getting any younger and not gettin any cheaper....lol but this year is the one for me to give the habit the kick.
Just dont know when yet, but it will happen
I gave up 14 years, 6 months, 29 days 4 hours and 30 mins ago and I'd still like a drag. I used the patches and built model cars, to have something for my hands to do, kept away from the pub and club for about 6 months and changed my coffee drinking habit, always had a smoke with my coffee. Had the smoking dreams for around 6 months and put on a fair bit of weight, but I'm sure I'm a lot healthier than I would have been otherwise.
Looking back on it I reckon I have saved around $15 a day (in today's money), that's around $80,000. Now I know how I can afford to have and run my truck
It's an horrendous amount of money when you think of it that way hey??? Bloody Nora!!
Trying to quit myself currently, and battling - think I've gotten over the whole nicotine thing as I'm not smoking any more often, but over the last few months have gone from 12's to 8's to 4's and as of yesterday, to 2's!! No such thing as a healthy smoke I know, but to me I think mine is habitual and I have an "addictive" personality - I like em so I Hoover em ...
That said, they ARE going and sooner rather than later for me ...
I want to quit i have a box of nicotine patches that has been sitting here for 4 months.
I find patches and chewing gum kill the cravings but then when i stop wearing patches it all comes back.
My mate just bought a carton of 250 winfields duty free for $30 i pay the same for 50.
Might go see the doctor and try that stuff tablets have to be easier then patches
It is strange how the mind (mine anyway) works as yesterday I was going to the Pub after Work and as I was going out the Door I patted my Pockets to check that I had my Cigarettes.
This is after 2 1/2 Years of not Smoking
Strange
Hard to break old habits hey!
sounds like it is worth a shot i went on the patches again no luck i did cut down from 12 mg to 1 mg though wich i thought might make it easier.
Not sure but 6 or 7 years since i went to the hypno never looked back. Sent a work mate there 6months ago and hes going strong no cravings nuthin!! Hes stoked. My wife did the same other mates have also been and still dont smoke.
Roofy I rekon I hate it more. Im working in the big smoke at the moment (thats a funny) and walking down to get lunch i spend more time holding my breath than breathing.
