well done mate, the bride is certainly looking good :)
Petit Caillou. I am so glad I found your thread. Have read the whole thing - your whole epic has been an amazing achievement. I feel inspired and will be planning mine for the future. Remarkable what one can do with a willing attitude and persistence. Hugely admire your story and really look forward to seeing the result. Well done and good luck in the end stretch!
As with all the other comments it's really nice to check in on this thread from time to time and see the progress. There is a lot of work but what a great finished product you will have. Thanks for sharing with us along the way.
I continue with a few photos:
Installation of optical crystal :

http://imageshack.us/a/img801/5683/8i30.jpg
Painting the inside of the cover , with an old paint that was lying in the workshop , I have long wanted to try this painting , shaking the pot I noticed she had not dried , but some doubts given its age and storage (freezing winter, sometimes - 15 ° see less and sometimes the hot 45 ° see more in the workshop). As was thinner and hardener that I still had a bit of a different brand , I mixed the two in a rough mix and sent it all with the firecracker 0.8 nozzle without conviction on the final goal. I confess to being surprised by the record that I find really not bad. To clean the paint , hard drive , gasoline makes no difference , still less the Hamérite thinner , white spirit does not much there , you really insist on cleaning with white spirit .
Photo from under bonnet installation of sound-absorbing coating :

The old magic pot:
http://imageshack.us/a/img812/152/pf9t.jpg
Other tests concluding the hammered in Hammerite paint , available in a small pot full of color , paint brush spreads only rendering is really nice, it resume the effect of the old peintent sheets at a time , it gives a solid feel , it is also corrosion .

So much for the moment, with other bits in preparation for the next photo reports .
Best regards
Petit caillou.
nice one :) wishing i had a shed and more equipment.
almost there Petit looking really good mate
Looking good mate.
Hello,
As I walked into the dealership of the manufacturer, the supply of the carpet cost far beyond the understanding (around 1500 euros for all insulation carpet cover + front + rear passenger carpet , trunk carpet , carpets passages wheel, sound insulation for all ) .
Looking good I finally found , unfortunately the French suppliers in thermo- formed carpet does not run the streets , therefore I pulled on Australia or not less than four manufacturers offer product costs around 750 euros postage , taxes and customs included , to receive this product. The advantage is that you can choose the finish : curly plush or super plush, and the immensity of colors , it is charcoal gray ( Charcoal ) . blabla end up with photos.

That will remain the introduction to , identification of cuts to make given that the pieces are larger than the original so as not to be too tight and also cut holes and passages shifters , brake handle , of the seats , fixing belts, ...
This weekend , in addition to finishing the cover ( above) the brake servo in place, clamps brake and clutch hoses dismantling of Horns to clean and repaint .

Hello,
Thank you for your messages.
Here are some additional photos of the site progress.
With the help of Francis body painting (sorry I have not had time to train me enough to point me to run itself). Preparation before finishing wings, holes license plates, door sills, underbody passed blackson before priming and painting.

Thanks for putting the effort into this thread, Petit. This build has been great, I have learned a lot about how a GQ fits together.
Keep up the great build mate
Make sure you put a decent shroud around those fans otherwise it will tend to overheat
How is it going with the rebuild?
very high commitment n dedication... good job
Hello,
Some major steps we have taken today in the progress of the project, the photos speak for themselves.

Hello,
The seat rests on its supports, it seems a little tilted back, strange, so it's ugly, it looks like nothing, so making attachment lugs to reduce the backrest angle

Hello,
The subject seems to leave you speechless, should I continue to post here?
Here is the result, achieving the footboard being time consuming (basically you do not like me too and thought to be advanced), I went to the establishment of the soundproofing and interior carpet.

You have invested a lot of time on this build you must be happy with the result
Hi threedogs,
The carpets are coming from AU (from allcarcarpets) and they fit perfectly.
I still have some little things to do before checking to the technical control and then use it on the road and offroad.
All the best,
Pierre.
I just had a read through your whole thread, you have done a fantastic job on transforming your Patrol.
I would like to do the same thing with one of my Patrols one day.
No don't stop posting! I assure you that people love reading your thread, even if there aren't any new posts. I'm always keen to see updates so keep them coming!
Seriously mate, although we may not leave comments, I'm sure we're all keen to see the progress on all your hard work. So far it's been outstanding and inspiring, so thank you and keep us all up to date Pierre.

Pierre.
Mate I love your build....!! I have hardly been on the forum as work is killer at the moment, so please keep the updates coming.
As Lucas said I am jealous.. I would love nothing more than to do a full strip down and sort stuff out properly!!!!!!
Cheers.........!!!
Pierre,
I have been away and not looking at the net, but it is great to see that you are nearly there.
I have been following this right through, and have found it most enjoyable

Hello,
On the eve of change from year here are some additional photos of the soap opera that lasted about 18 months , the end is near but there are still a few things that take time and patience before to get out for a ride .
Achievement of floorboards style rockslider attached to the body , this step was one of the headlock from the beginning ( in terms of setting) , nevertheless the result is promising .
Tube bending small radius , it is a pleasure to do, especially as it is a hassle to find a box capable of doing :
http://imageshack.us/a/img837/3490/59v9.jpg
Performing a hook attachment , it takes 4 !
http://imageshack.us/a/img28/1088/dbvj.jpg
In place on the tube (76mm descaled together ) :
http://imageshack.us/a/img196/7983/9oh9.jpg
The left foot step before painting :
http://imageshack.us/a/img839/9017/et52.jpg
Stand -by ! dry paint a picture of the running boards up soon ... ( there's more suspense in this series )
Installing a snorkel , history of breathing fresh mountain air ... Bourbonnais
The drilling
http://imageshack.us/a/img850/8523/pccs.jpg
The work of the " puncher des Lilas " , small holes :
http://imageshack.us/a/img163/3584/wbk0.jpg
Always small holes small holes , small holes :
http://imageshack.us/a/img855/7708/c3a9.jpg
To make a big hole with the hose wing crossing in place :
http://imageshack.us/a/img707/601/mqsd.jpg
Now I attack with wing extensions with some ups and downs , thinking back all in one , I got screwed by a wag for the purchase of rear extensions supposed to be free of scratches or breakage (5 Fixing brackets are broken and two others are willing to let go ), I let you enjoy :
http://imageshack.us/a/img203/2428/yrwj.jpg
So I attack the establishment extensions before , that they are good could I have not been up to my self- ripped for fun, when you see the investment of time , I have not always want to laugh with wankers who take me for an idiot!
Mounting the fender extensions front with flap and inner mudguards, a pleasure of Japanese engineering technology!
http://imageshack.us/a/img834/606/xq25.jpg
A view of the front left corner :

Following with new photos soon .
Regards,
What an incredible renovation. All new Y60 to be born.
Waiting for the job to complete.
Thanks Petit.
