wouldn't the 24% be higher than the stock 50% reduction gear? Cause the gearbox output shaft speed is reduced by a lower factor (24% as opposed to 50%).

No. I belive they are quoted as a % of what the stock gearing is. So if stock is 50% then the 24% would equate to a 74% reduction

Thats it, 85% of 2.02 =1.72 so, being that it is further reduced it is 2.02+1.72= 3.74:1.
3.3:1 for 63's
2.99:1 for 43's
2.5:1for 24's

right that makes sence now, didnt realise the reduction was on the stock gear.
