Very nice Jon, well done mate.
Hi
A big thanks to Rusty Nails and The Flying Badger for the ideas and discussion. We dropped in to Midland Marine (don't be put of by the yard next door). The Guy there was great got rack for 750 after spending a heap of time crawling over the track-lander, rhino etc. The solid frame and long channel insert did it for me, spreading weight over more than 6 points. Easy to lift on and off and position. Really happy with this locally built one.
Thanks again guys for this discussion.
Thanks RN
I have never had a roof rack before. We immediately noticed a turbulence noise at any speed above 60km/h. It does not have a piece of ali/plastic angled deflector (??) at the front and I soon hope to mount one.
I also think the chaps may have mounted the rack a little bit forward as there is still a moderate amount of room to move it towards the rear. I wondered if the air flow over the front window should angle roughly over the face of the roof rack front?
I was going to cut up a piece of glavo sheet to fit and bolt on. Does this help with the noise/turbulence.
Thanks
J
