Engine "ticking noise"

Hi guys im new to this forum stuff, to (mikebossybos)..your highroof patrol is my old 4x4 i had it for about four years & traded it in ten years ago..Easter 2004.. gr8t truck

Not sure if anyone remembers this but i finally got around to taking the pistons out of the engine. All it was was a shattered compression ring on number 4 cylinder.

You probably have a problem with the actuator, which is the ticking sound you are hearing.You will need to remove the radio and the left hand(drivers) sound insulator to access the actuator. It has plastic gears that break over time, and clicking sound is the motor trying to move the blend door.
