A slight thread hijack

Just looked at the Warren and Brown torgue wrench on ebay, then looked at what else he was selling, have a look at the bottle of Stones GGWhttp://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Old-bottl...50438561849019, i reckon that would be absolutely wicked, or vile.

Don't know if the stomach could handle that.

Thanks for your help guys, the T/Wrench came today and I got a set of impact sockets for my rattle gun from the same guy.

The ones like the Teng Trolatron bought kind of roll when they reach the setting - feels like they are breaking. They also make some noise.

The deflecting beam ones like the Warren and Brown make a click as the little piston is set free. With these ones it is important to get into the habit of reseting the piston each time it clicks off.

Don't use either of them as breaker bars nor to turn in the wrong direction. Not 100% sure that is always a sin with the Teng type, but would start there unless the manual says different. With the Teng type, always reset the torque back to 0 in accordance with the instructions before storing away.

There are all kinds of 'rules' about torque settings too - whether the fastener is lubricated or not, for instance, affects the amount of torque required to produce the required result.

I find the TengTools gear is always great to use and had no faults with any of there tools. Backing off when not is use is the way to go to and I also come back up off the hard Zero set a tade. Warren Brown are really good to just no rotation locking clip on my old ones.
I always torque important nuts with some tread lube and use at least three or four settings. 50% 80% 90% 100% approx. Watch those Ali head studs though. Torque and recheck after been hot were you can.
