Robin Hoods lost arrow
Thats part of a shearers old hand shear in a tree down Bordertown way
OOOOOHHHH THE black thing Im trying to figure out why the white cut out square is there romfl DOH
still cant see what it is anyway
TD as the tree has grown and the shear has slowly rusted away the square makes it easier to see from the ground
But hey it may not be what i think it is
all I see it a piece of black steel inside a veiwing square, well now I do didnt before
anyone famous put the shears there? Jack Howe maybe??
There is a story behind it but can`t remember
But lets see if I`m right
Yep, you got it, pearcy. Your turn. It is the Shearing Tree. The tree was close to the shearing shed and yards. During their breaks, the shearers used to play a game of "darts" using the broken shearing blades. This particular blade got stuck and has moved up as the tree has grown.
Puts a squash on the old trees dont grow taller from the trunk, only wider. Ive seen tie up rings 10 feet up.
Big horses back then.
