3 PPL missing on Port Phillip Bay , their Tinnie was found overturned near Altona
I didnt even want to go outside yesterday it was that windy, outlook is gloomy for these 3
Inexperienced and a new boat apparently...
Very sad but you have to be smart about these things.... from the sounds of the weather there yesterday even experienced boaties would have left the tub in the shed.
it was blowing a gale yesterday, started just after lunchtime.
No way breathing would I have gone fishing especially in the Bay.
But sometimes you cant tell ppl, if they had a weather report
or just looked at the weather it would/should have sounded alarm bells.
But easy to sit and wonder I suppose
Who is up for a trip to Beari on the Murray.????
I am available any time
oh ah Glenn Mc grath if the timing is right Im up to it
What I don't understand is that all small boats must wear life vests.
Pretty slow days fishing today. All fish caught were undersize. A few sweep, a few bream and a mullet that nearly jumped in the boat. Lolhttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...015/06/109.jpg
My view from the boat. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...015/06/110.jpg
They found all 3 three of those fisherman sadly all deceased
This was caught at Wombat reservoir this morning on worms , measuring 43cm. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...015/06/113.jpg
Thought I might fish here tonight at Weyba creek. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...015/06/114.jpg

Just spent a couple of days up the Murray with Roofy.
I did not wet a line as the River was very low.
Had a great time just chewing the Fat and learning about Roofy's event filled Life.(Has had more jobs than I have had Feeds LOL)
Extremely cold overnight but great during the Day
Had a very busy weekend
Went fishing to Flinders on Sunday chasing monster squid.
Largest was 50cm hood. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...015/06/427.jpg

We also got 8 Pike or Snook, this one like a baseball bat. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...015/06/429.jpg
Today went to werribee's 10m mark to fish for flatties http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...015/06/430.jpg
Very jealous. Flatties one of the best eating fish in the sea in my opinion. Washed down with a few squid rings even better

nice catch Mego, just watched Robson Green somewhere in the world fishing for squid.[commercial]
the hood was 3-4ft on every catch, you could just imagine the size of the beak.
must agree on the flatty being a great table fish be it under rated big time.
me I'd prefer flatties to Barra anyday
And i thought the cuttlefish i caught today was a good size....

This is my biggest cuttlefish. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...015/06/440.jpgnext to a size 12 shoe.
Great catch by the way.
Where you fishing.
Nice one. Fishing off Victor Harbor SA. Got cuttlefish on couple of 6/0 hooks with snapper baits. No snapper so handy bycatch. Even fresh cuttlefish head couldnt get a result.

When I was diving I used to get huge cuttle fish down Port Arlington.
My MIL would then make an awesome seafood marinara,, to die for
MIL was old school Italian, love and miss her
Italians have great recipes. Used to use octopus caught as bycatch for bait until met a bloke at a party in our street who had cooked it using old family recipe. It was amazing. Slow cooked, and his grandfather tenderised it by beating it on the wharf 52 times. Not 51 or 53.

Once for every week of the year,Ive seen some food shows from Greece where you see
the women throwing the octopus against the rocks,.KIWI fruit tenderizers them too.
I was told you can only cook octopus two ways , very fast or very slow.
You'd get some awesome fish from Victor Habour eh, do you head off shore often
Interestingly, the guy in question now puts his occy in a heavy plastic bag and throws it in the cement mixer to tenderise it. Fishing in Victor ok if you know where to go but suffers from being too close to Adelaide and its population of anglers. Dont get out as much as i would like to if i had more time
